I needed a cheap hotel room for one night when I took my son to college. For $45 total it was fine, the room had an odor like it not been aired out in a while, but it appeared clean. The TV was really old and their was not remote, so I just peeled off the bedspread, blanket and top sheet and went to bed. The bathroom was clean, but the shower was very small. Nest time I probably would not stay here again, unless the property is updated.

We paid for our daughter to stay here. She had her 2 year old with her. They moved a table and found syringes under it. Then they looked under the bed and found more drug paraphernalia. When they demanded another room, the one they were given was even dirtier. The night person wouldn't talk with us although we paid for the room. The hotel refused to give a refund. I'd give this a zero rating if I could. We had to move her to another hotel in the middle of the night.

One the ride home from our vacation we stayed in this KS Motel 6. The price for a basic low quality motel was outrageous at $85!!! We stayed in GA at a similar place and it was great furnature, comfortable room, clean towels and bathrooms for $45! We get to KS and first of all couldnt find a gas station and when we did we had to pay a toll to get to it and then the hotel was right but the gas station and no hotels for miles around, so we stayed. The hotel probably knows there are no hotels for miles so they rob you with an $85 price tag. The room was smelly with a big stain on the carpet. The beds were like sleeping on cardboard. The bathroom was falling apart, the ceiling was flood damaged and falling down, the vent was loud whenever you turned on the light. No clean new toilet paper, the towels were just thrown on the racks, look like they have been used before. My opinion is, if you need to stay there because its midnight and there is nothing for miles then you have no choice but before you leave the main city of KS please look for a hotel in the actual downtown because once you leave downtown thats all you will find that has available rooms and this is the only hotel you will find for miles around.

Don't ever stay at the Motel 6 in Lenexa KS. Let what happened to me be your warning.

I'd made a reservation online for a room with a fridge and microwave for me, and a regular room for the person traveling with me. I checked in first; he wasn't sure if he'd stay there or with a family member in that city. He ended up staying there, which is good.

So, I check in and get the room key and go over ... It's room number 134, at the far end of the complex, the very last room in the far corner. It's pouring down, rain & sleet, and we can feel every drop like needles being hammered into our skulls.

I open the door. The first thing I notice is the tv is on a bed. It's laying on its front, on the bed. The second bed is disassembled. There is mold on one of the walls. The air vent is hanging down open, from the ceiling. There are tools all over the place. You don't even want to know what I found in the bathroom. I went to the one working thing in the room, the phone, and called the front desk. The clerk offered me another room.

We drove back to the office and I got a replacement room - number 153. This one seemed to be OK ... at first. After I took my stuff in, we went to get something to eat and then back to the convention. It was around 5 when I got back to the motel and the storm was beating down with freezing rain. I went over and turned the heat on its highest setting.

Now, this was a lower-class room, but I was not refunded the overpayment (the room with a mic and fridge was a few dollars more than a regular one). OK, whatever. As I discovered, the room's heat didn't work. At all.

I had originally just thought it was just me, since the curtain was open, that it felt chilly in the room. I put my hand up by the vent and it was blowing out COLD air. I fiddled with the thermostat a few times, changing settings, even changed from hot to cold, thinking maybe it was reversed for some reason. No matter what I did - including when I shut if off - it continued blowing out cold air.

I took the gauze - excuse me, the blanket - from the other bed and put it on mine, then added the second bedspread and I was still cold. I didn't get more than four hours total sleep there. Even turning the shower on with hot water and letting steam in didn't warm anything up.

When I called the front desk about this I was informed they were full and there was nothing they could do.

Well there's something *I* can do. I can warn people not to go to this ghetto motel.

Motel 6 Lenexa KS. Avoid it. You'll either get a room full of mold, or you'll get one where you can literally see your breath.
