“Great time, service not to good”

Great Wolf is a great place to spend some time. I was not to impressed with the people that worked there. We had problems when checking in. We had a total of 4 rooms and the girl at the fron counter said we could not check in till 4. I have stayed at the one in Grapevine Tx a few times so knew you can go early and use the water park. I asked her if could just get the wrist bands and get into the rooms later and she looked at me like I was an idiot. She said I don't know and had to go get another girl to help her. I asked if we could link a credit card to the room so could charge the room and not have to have cash or a credit card all the time. She had no idea how to do that since each room was going to be different. Went back later in the night and put a credit card on my account. I said that someone else is paying for the room I just want this to be for the expenses. She said not a problem. When it came time for check out I had no balance and all the charges were on someone else room.

Went to the starbucks and was overcharged and they could not figure out how to give me my money back for the extra charges.

The one thing I really liked about this location is there are plenty of places to go and eat. You do not have to eat at the lodge. We went and got BBQ one night and had pizza the next. I saw alot of people doing the same thing.

I’m glad to see that you had a good time over all and that you enjoyed our dining options.

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with our guest services team. We pride ourselves on our customer service, so this is disappointing to hear.

I will share your concerns with the Director of Guest Services so this can be avoided in the future.

Kind Regards,
Karina Addari

“Hotel in major disrepair/rundown”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We just got back from staying at the hotel and for the cost I was expecting the hotel to be much nicer.
Our room had many things wrong with it. The couch cushions on the pull out sofa were ripped. The buttons on the front of the old box TV were pushed in and didn't work. The TV channels (the few that we actually got) were static and blurry. The wall outlets on the highest counter were installed incorrectly and didn't work. Our coffee pot was broken and missing pieces.
The pool was also rundown. On the family hot tub all of the rocks on the sides were cracked and pulling away from the ground, the waterfall into the hot tub was not working, the jets in the hot tub were not working either, and the control box over the hot tub was rusting and in need of repair-probably why the jets and waterfall were broken. The hot tub water was also cold. The waterslides were filthy, they were covered in scum, like slimy nasty-haven't been cleaned in a long time filthy. The rope net over the log pad walk was also falling apart, not like just ripped yesterday either-like broke a year ago and the hotel is going to wait as long as long as possible to put any money into the upkeep of the hotel-broken. More then 1/2 of the net was ripped and shredded.
And to top things off-during our stay one of the other guests at the hotel stole my shoes and dirty underware from the pool. Talk about creepy. I guess that's my fault...but on top of what we paid for the stay, paying $10 for a locker was a bit much-the lockers should be included in the cost of the stay at the hotel. They nickel and dime you for every little thing.
We were let down by our stay at the hotel...and if management doesn't start putting money into replacing things that need to be fixed and replaced they are going to lose a lot of customers. Were had planned on returning in both February and March of this year for our kids birthdays-but after staying at the hotel have changed our minds.

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay with us. This feedback will be used by the team to better the lodge and the experience for future guests.

As for the issue of price, you will find our pricing comparable to other resorts of similar size and nature. A one-night stay at Great Wolf offers two-days worth of time in the indoor waterpark, because waterpark admission is included in the cost of the stay. The price is comparable to four single day tickets to a regional theme park or one two-day pass to a popular Orlando attraction.

Please reach out to the lodge directly at 913-299-7001 to discuss your issues in more detail.

Sincerely,
Karina Addari

“Great Wolf, Good Times, Bad Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Just got back today from the Wolf. Kids love it - Maji game and water park really are cool. Even though the hotel was packed, restaurant not crowded. Just not enough people working, food below average. The worse is the snack bar in the pool area. Takes a long time to get food and usually everything is cold - I mean how hard is it to microwave a pretzel. This place is expensive - we speant 2100 over 3 days for a family of seven. People try hard here I just think they need more folks working during busy times - if you can get past all this, kids love it and thats what most important.

“A vacation close to home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

We have been to the Great Wolf Lodge many times and it is always a fun time. You can escape and feel like you are on a vacation but really you are close to home. They are very kid friendly. From the restaurants to the rooms they are made for families. We get a suite with a loft since we have four kids. Usually we can find a discount out there that helps the cost. The loft can get warm but they always bring a fan in if needed for us. The wand game the kids play makes them feel like Harry Potter is alive! The guards are very nice and the thing I appreciate the most is they are very watchful, always professional. Seems like there are negative reviews posted but I have stayed here with my family and a large group of kids with three rooms and each visit has went well.

Room Tip: The loft rooms are fun for the kids. The bunk bed rooms are fun if you have small children. Love any...

“Too cold! I expected more for the big price tag.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

We were disapointed with the freezing temps in the water area. Our kids still had fun but had to take breaks to warm up. Our room was showing wear such as stained carpet, a non-working remote, and dirty tile. For the huge price tag we expected to be impressed.

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your September stay with us.

Our waterpark is kept at 84 degrees and the water is kept between 82 and 83. Sometimes during the colder winter months, the area around where the tube slides come into the building may be a little colder. I’m sorry that this was the case during your stay.

As for the issue of price, you will find our pricing comparable to other resorts of similar size and nature.
