I pulled over due to the bad weather in Emporia,Kansas. I found this hotel right off the freeway. I was welcomed by some of the nicest people working there. They were very courteous and helpful. I got some food at the resteraunt. The food was great. I went up to the room and was suprised about how nice and clean the room was. My experience was excellent.

Very nice management & staff, friendly and clean facilities.

Relatively clean but very worn. Restaurant decided to close 2 hours early and didnt want to serve dinner. Indoor pool was not heated and there were feces in the pool. Jacuzzi was warm but makes one wonder what was in the water. Very disappointing after driving for 10 hours with 3 children. Had to go to Applebees to eat. Motel 6 would have been better, seriously!

I would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone! Let me first say that I am in no way a hotel snob. I have stayed in very nice hotels to totally outdated ones. I am really only looking for good service and a clean room.

We took our kids (14, 4 and 10 months) down to the pool only to find there were no towels. No biggie. Hubby and I walked to the front desk to let them know and ask for towels. The man at the desk handed us 2. Since there are 5 of us I asked him for 3 more. He said that he could not do that. Needless to say, I was not happy and kept insisting on 3 more. He kept refusing. Now, every hotel I have ever been in offers towels to the guests. During that conversation he stated that there was no housekeeping staff there and he could not give me towels. How are we supposed to swim if there are no towels? He finally gave in and gave me the additional 3 towels but only after us asking for our money back so we could go to a different hotel. Once we did get to the pool, it was terribly cold...so cold that our 4 year old boy did not want to get in. The hot tub was also out of order and had been for some time. Dissapointment for our kids and us.

The room was a bit outdated but no big deal for us. All I need is clean. Clean it was not. There were hairs (7-8) in the bathtub that were not ours. The towel bar was missing but the rusty hangars for it were still sticking out of the wall. There was a coffee maker but they only had one package of creamer/sugar. The ironing board was broken and could not be used. The iron itself had red gunk stuck to it. Good thing I packed my own. Much of the metal surfaces were rusty and old.

Overall the service was terrible and the room was unclean. I would have changed hotels but could not find another since the college's graduation was that weekend. I can't believe that TripAdvisor would have this listed as #4. Please stay somewhere else!
