This hotel was choosen by the group we were traveling with. I was very disappointed. The cost of the room was high compared with the quality of the hotel. It is old and in need of some major updating. The room had a damp basement like feel and nothing we did with the air system seemed to help.

Due to a power failure, we were unable to stay at this hotel.

The staff was very professional; they cancelled the reservation and helped us find another place to stay

I'm giving this hotel an above average rating based on the cost. We used one of those coupons you get at rest centres so this was a very inexpensive place to stay. The pool was a nice bonus that we used before we dropped into bed after a long day of driving. The free wifi wouldn't work in the room, but did work by the pool and in the lobby. Breakfast was basic continental, but got us going for the day. This was basic, clean accommodation that was inexpensive and located well for the highway.

We just returned from a stay at the Super 8 Hotel in Urbandale and were VERY DISAPPOINTED with the hotel accommodations. BOTH the shower and sink drains in our room were badly plugged. It was especially gross to take a shower and within a minute or two, the tub had about 6 inches of water "swimming with pieces of bio-products"...the majority of which were probably not even our own.

The hotel representative was apologetic, but the drain blockages were so bad that, in my opinion, this must have been a problem that needed repair for quite some time.

I think that, at a minimum, guests are looking for a clean place to sleep and shower. The beds were clean, but that's all I can say.
