“Ok size. Smelly hallways. BAD customer service.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

Plenty of room and a nice clean pool. Rooms are dated but generally clean.... A few cobwebs on the corner and one pillow with a gross stain.

Checking in... Guy st the desk stared st us from another room and made us wait 10 min before he came to check us in.

Our family group was planning to use a large gathering room... But found a water leak ( soaked carpet) and a really musty smell.

When my wife talked to Diane at the front desk... My wife was told to go and look for the housekeeping person... To keep an eye out for her. Seriously? What kind of customer service is that? After talking to this person at the front desk again, I was told that my wife misunderstood. I can look past a lot... But a hotel front desk person that interrupts every sentence I try to say, then tells me to "come on" when I stayed my dissatisfaction with her approach to customer service?

Look elsewhere for a place to stay in okoboji... There are many nice places. I will be looking elsewhere next time.

“OK resort for trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Stay at hotel for an event, Was suppose to get group rate which was at higher rate than if was booked online. There was several other events happening at hotel itself. I happened to get the party type people on the floor. They started about 11 and didn't finish the yelling and running up and down the hall until 3 am. We were not that far from the front desk and no staff came to investigate or inform them to stop etc.... When I left in the morning the walkway looked like a beer festival was held and empty beer cans were all over along with empty cigarette boxes. The trash can was 2 feet away from all this. The restaurant in the hotel was good food and service. Staff at check in was good, check out was like an inconvenience to him.

Room Tip: Make sure there is not wedding or large group staying in hotel that will party all night.

“Needs a little sprucing up”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

It was a busy weekend with several weddings/events - a good marketing opportunity to attendees. The property seemed somewhat tired - could use some updating, especially in the public event space. The a/c needed attention in that area of the hotel, as well. At times the staff seemed quite challenged.

“Lotta $$$ for not much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2011

Stayed here 2 nights. Kind of disappointed with what we got for what we paid. The rooms are 2 or 3 times renovated from an older Holiday Inn. Nicely apointed rooms, but lots of noise bleeding from neighboring rooms, especially from overhead rooms/halls. The shower was nice, good temp/pressure. The halls and rooms smelled musty. Not good for those of us with mold allergies. Our room, on LOW air conditioning was 62 degrees. Can't imagine what high would have done to us. We're not large people by any means, but had trouble using the stool, as the seat didn't sem to fit the fixture. The old original bathtub seemed out of place, and some rust showed through the rotting caulking. You have to sit in bed to see the OLD TV, as the stand barely pivots. The carpet seemed wet/moist. No rooms have typical windows, but floor to ceiling windows which allow for great views but are quite heavy and hard to open. Decent parking and a superb onsite restaurant. The bed was quite firm, which was great for us, but the bedding/linens/towels were worn and flimsy. Not a bad stay, but not worth 480 bucks for 2 nights. We've stayed at the Inn before as well, which was a bit nicer than the Arrowwood, but you can hear every single conversation of neighboring rooms when guests are speaking in normal volumes. Getting to think no place at Okoboji is worth the price they charge.

Bedding (blankets) were not fresh. Halls around the banquet rooms had an odor.
