This is a hotel ran by amateurs trying to look like professionals. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful enough but yet we still found them some what slow and lacking where service was concerned. Also the hotel is very close to the rail road and it kept us awake all night with a loud tooting and rumbling noise.
Penny's dinner look OK but the service was poor and the food questionable. The service was slow and they got the order wrong, we even had to ask for cutlery. We waited for over 20 minutes for our first course to arrive and when it did they served our main arrived with it, consequently our main went cold. Also my wife's main was supposed to have vegetables but came with one lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato.
We usually over look such problems but the noise from rail road track combined with the diner carry on finished us both off...We asked for another room facing away from the track, they obliged but the noise still went on. In the morning we were exhausted and short tempered!
Breakfast was back inside penny's,(oh joy), guess what... they'd ran out of cereals! Luckily eggs were in plentiful supply so we eat up left promptly.
Room Tip: If you sleep like a log choose a room facing away from the rail road. If you are a light sleeper try...
