I stayed at this super 8 for 3 night about a week ago, I think they did a fine job taking care of me during my stay my room was great, nice and warm and clean, everything went smoothly at check in, and they had a fantastic breakfast in the morning.

Traveling along Interstate 29, we needed to pull over due to weather. We found the Super 8 in Missouri Valley, IA. The rooms were clean and spacious, they had a good breakfast. It was nice to have a hot cup of coffee when I woke up a 5:00am, most places don't start serving until 6:00am. I would recommend this hotel to friends traveling along Interstate 29.
We pulled in rather late driving northbound on I-29, had reservations, but that didn;t prevent the incredibly surly gal at the front dask from taking her own sweet time getting us checked in, so much so that we asked, very politely, if it was possible to cancel our reservation in favor of moving on to another hotel. She barked back at us that no, it was not possible, and her ridiculously slow service "was not her problem." Thankfully, on the drive back down I-29, we discoved the Holiday Inn in Sioux CIty...wonderful folks! As such, that will be our new stop coming and going.
We (6 adults) travelled around the country for 6 weeks and stayed at a lot of motels, even several Super 8's. This was by far the worst place in the entire trip. We were tired and sleepy , otherwise would have keep going. The lobby carpet was spot cleaned; the hallway carpets were dirty and the smell of smoke eminated from some of the rooms. One toilet would not flush; room keys didn't work; the breakfast cereal had ants (the desk clerk removed it all, but management had locked the employees out of replacement items); the snack machine was sparse and contents out-of-date. The WiFi did not work and desk clerk could not fix it. The entire building needed a lot of maintenance. We will not stop here if we're in this area again and urge fellow travellers to keep looking.
The room was clean and no bad odors but once the a/c cranked on the room did smell a bit musty. I have dust allergies and my nose was itching like crazy but it may have had more to do with the fact that I was sleeping on my travel pillow that had been lurking under my car seat for months.
Free continental breakfast was sufficient but mediocre. The donut box was already out the night before so they were not super fresh. The donuts were pretty pathetic in appearance - the iced donuts looked like they had been iced by a 2 yr old. The selection was poor - these were not Crispy Cremes.
Other breakfast items were cereal, toast and bagels, coffee, juice or milk to drink.
The toilet didn't seem to flush properly - water would go down but toilet tissue wouldn't flush. Maybe needed to hold the handle down??
All things considered we'd probably stay here again - this was the 2nd visit for us...a step up from typical Motel 6s. Coffee maker, hair dryer, clock radio in room.
