My husband and I stopped over one night at A Bella Vista in Iowa City. We stayed in their larger bedroom downstairs. It was more expensive, but we loved the spacious room, and lovely ensuite bathroom. We had a separate entrance to an outside porch from this room, which made it easy to go out to the car without having to get out our key to use the securely locked front door at night. My only suggested improvement would be that Daissy, the owner, should describe breakfast to her guests the night before. Because of other reviews, I knew that breakfast could have a southwestern taste. I mentioned to her the night before that I couldn't eat anything spicy, and she assured me nothing that she was serving would be a problem. But for me, I had trouble eating the lovely breakfast she prepared because the sausage and the salsa were too hot for my very sensitive tongue. If Daissy had described the breakfast the night before when I mentioned my special needs, then I would have told her no salsa and possibly no sausage.
As it was, I scraped off the salsa and ate what I could of the main dish. There was also delicious coffee, juice, and wonderful fresh fruit. And for anyone who likes their food with a mild "kick", this breakfast would have been superb.
Daissy is a wonderful, warm hostess, and I loved visiting with her. I would certainly recommend her bed and breakfast to others. My husband really is particular about showers, and this one really pleased
him!
