Ms Daissy Owen runs an excellent B&B. I attended a course at U of Iowa and this was a very convenient place to stay.It is close to downtown Iowa City and has a nice view of the Iowa river. The owner has travelled to many countries and is happy to share her experiences.

The strength of this B&B is it's hostess, Daissy, who is very welcoming and accommodating. Our friendly chat over breakfast of her incredible travel adventures made our trip a lot of fun and very memorable. Her home is walking distance to the University on a quiet charming street with a view of the river from her deck.

Kudos to wonderful host Daissy Owens for her hospitality and friendliness. We had a marvelous stay at her bed and breakfast, and enjoyed her company as well as the access to many of Iowa City's best restaurants and shopping. Her inn is located at the end of Lynne Street, and is a short walk to the main shipping district, but quiet and on the bluff above the Iowa River. Daissy herself is a world traveler and joy to spend time with. Plus, the breakfast was wonderful. I highly recommend staying here for anyone whose work brings them to this university town.

I've visited Iowa City during the first weekend in April each of the last three years, and each time I've stayed at A Bella Vista. It sits at the end of a leafy street just a few minutes' walk from downtown, and is overseen by Daissy, the consummate hostess. Her travel stories, delicious breakfasts, and bottomless pots of coffee are the perfect start to an Iowan day. I look forward to next April already.
