My husband and I moved across country in January '08, and we got snowed in at this hotel for 2 days. Even though we weren't on vacation, this hotel was so relaxing and wonderful that we felt like we were just there for fun. The hotel staff were absolutely wonderful, they even let us borrow their snow shovel when it was time to go.

The prices were surprisingly reasonable considering that every other hotel we had gotten snowed in at had charged an arm and a leg just because they knew we had no other choice. The Best Western, however, charged us very reasonably and treated us like family. My husband and I agreed that we would love to go back in the near future to "get snowed in again" because it was just so nice the first time!

Bottom line, out of all the hotels I've stayed in, and I've stayed in tons by now, the Best Western in Grinnell, Iowa is my absolute #1. If I had my choice, I would just take this hotel with me wherever I need to travel, just so I can be sure to have a great stay.

Although we were at this property only one night, we were impressed with the cordial welcome and accommodating staff. The property is new and our room appeared scrupulously clean. It is a non-smoking property, which was the deciding factor for our choice to stay there. The room was quiet and comfortable, beds and pillows were good, and the staff were responsive and helpful. We did not use the pool, but it appeared well-kept. The breakfast was hot, varied and plentiful. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

We stayed here on our way through on a cross country trip. The bed was extremely comfortable, as were the pillows. It was very new, with an excellent quality mattress and pillows. We slept very well.

Closer to where we live, a motel of this newness and quality would cost 120-130 dollars, so we were very pleased with it's value for the cost.

I chose this motel because they offered a discount for people going to the Grinnell Hospital. My son is having stomach bi pass surgery. The person at the desk said she could give us a room with two large beds for $69. I chose it because she further stated they "had a HOT tub and POOL and HOT BREAKFAST." Thinking it would save time for our early morning meeting, we checked in. The pool was way too cold so I decided to go to the hot tub. It was DIRTY, ICE COLD and turned off! SO then they said they had a "hot breakfast" which consisted of nasty bagels that need to be toasted, crappy egg circles that have to be heated), little sausage patties...again, needed to be heated and nasty, greasy bacon..." that was their idea of a HOT breakfast! SOOOO gross! It was a CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST, NOT A HOT BREAKFAST! N
