I stayed at the America's Best Value Inn Suburban Motel in Emmetsburg on my way to South Dakota. I was looking for simple and cheap, and this motel fit both. I was surprised to find it was similar in cleanliness and comfort to the larger city hotels I usually stay in. I had extra pillows, the mattress and blankets were great, there were plenty of channels on TV, and the water pressure in the shower was great. So great, in fact, that it flooded the bathroom...but that was the only mishap! There were a few hairs in the shower but other than that, the room was very clean. There is a washer/dryer as well as vending machines, few toiletries in the rooms (just soap and shampoo) but you can purchase at the front desk if you'd like, and the complimentary breakfast was simple but good (pastries, fruit, coffee and juice). There were few people staying the night I was there, so it was VERY quiet, and there's a big farm across the street so your night definitely won't be interrupted by noise. Cars only passed by every once in a great while. The staff was great and helpful, and there was free wireless internet (just ask the front desk for the password).
Also, if you sign up for a Value Card on their web site (it's free), you get a discount. I only paid $50 for the night...and they upgraded me to a bigger room with a fridge and a microwave. It was definitely worth the price I paid.
