We took a family trip to Iowa to watch some minor league baseball. This hotel lived up to its positive reviews. Not many hotels to choose from in Clinton. Room was clean, staff was friendly...overall a great stay!

We booked two rooms for one night for a winter break with our adult kids and grand kids. Other than a strong perfume smell in the foyer, it was fine. We feared the perfume smell was an attempt to cover up another smell, but once we got into the lobby the air was clean. The staff was friendly. Cookies were baked and ready for us. We brought our dog along and were given a room near the back door which was convenient for walking the dog. It was only an additional $10 to keep her in our room, way cheaper than boarding. The pool area was nice. We nearly had the place to ourselves! Breakfast was the usual for these places: waffles, French toast, sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, milk, rolls, muffins etc. Everyone was pleased with the selections.

I had two rings (one diamonds) stolen from my room, the cleaning people stole them. I told the people at the hotel, and nothing was done about it. Called several times, emailed them -- but no one gets back to you about it. NOT ONE PHONE CALL returned or email. DO NOT STAY THERE!

ALSO, when we turned on the heat, a burning smell came out of the vents, and made the smoke alarm go off. It was horrible. I will NEVER stay there again, and will tell EVERYONE I know about it and not to stay there either.

I want to start out by saying that our family has traveled extensively all over the world and we always stay at JW Marriotts, Marriotts, Renaissance Hotels, or other high end hotels if Marriotts are not available. We are platinum in their rewards club, so we are treated very well, and are automatically upgraded to the best room available. Needless to say, we are spoiled when it comes to vacationing(self proclaimed hotel snobs!). So, we were a bit hesitant when trying the find a place to stay in Clinton for our high school reunion. Our dinner was to be held at the Frontier, and I tried to book a suite there, but there was nothing available, so I called Country Inn and Suites, as it shares a parking lot with the Frontier. We booked a 1 bedroom suite, and went in with very low expectations. Well, we were pleasantly surprised!!! The entire staff was absolutely fantastic! They gave the kids fresh cookies and apples to take up to our room. In the morning at the breakfast, our baby made quite a mess, and the young lady in charge came over with a smile, and said not to worry about it and she quickly cleaned it up without making us feel guilty or like a burden. Reception was able to book a room next door to ours for our parents to stay in, with no problems. The pool, while small, was a great temperature and got a bug thumbs up from our children and adult family members too. And the room, while small, was perfect with a living room with pull out sofa, little bar area with sink and small refrigerator, a clean bathroom, french doors to the bedroom that had a curtain for privacy, and the bedroom's king bed was fine...not luxury, but perfectly adequate. The best part, which my husband and I were both extremely impressed with was the maid service...it was the absolute BEST we have ever encountered! Swimsuits were hung, a few stray socks were joined, clothes folded, and everything was cleaned and pickup up beautifully! Very impressive! We highly recommend this to anyone going to Clinton for a stay. I can't imagine being more pleased anywhere else in Clinton!
