This entire complex (W. Baden Hotel, French Lick Hotel, casino, and all associated property) is simply amazing. We had never stayed at W.Baden hotel & always wanted to (We have stayed at French Lick Hotel many times.) W. Baden is more expensive, but we considered it an early Christmas gift to each other. We were not disappointed. We even reserved one of the balcony rooms overlooking the HUGE circular atrium. The room was big, bathroom was huge and nicely furnished with large walk-in shower, tub and double sink. Only thing bad were the pillows, but bed was comfortable; room clean & inviting. Had breakfast in the morning at the hotel & it was very delicious. The afternoon we checked in, we had a drink, sat at a table in the atrium - it was lovely. All staff, including the bellman and parking valet could not have been friendlier. The history of this place and French Lick is so interesting; make sure you take a guided historical tour put on the Ind. Historic Landmarks people. We toured this hotel in the mid-70's when it was closed, and fell in love with the place even though both hotels were deteriorating. Now, after the $500 million renovation, it is lovely. Not only is the entire resort lovely & inviting now, all the art work and history is worth just walking around and observing. We will return many times.
