This is a good place if you have realistic expectations for a budget hotel.
The Positives
-- Pleasant staff. The staff was very nice and pleasant. They greet you with a hospitable attitude, and they try to meet your needs. This makes a difference for a budget hotel.
-- A good deal. The place is cheap, and for the cost the accommodations are acceptable. Not fantastic, but acceptable. I'd take advantage of every discount I have available. Some reviews complained about the lack of cleanliness. I didn't find that to be a problem.
-- Location. This Super 8 is located in a shopping area, with Wal-Mart, Barnes and Noble, Pier 1, and numerous other stores and restaurants nearby. But it's far away enough from the main roads that traffic noise isn't a big problem. However, your GPS might get confused by the parking lots.
The Negatives
-- Smoke. The room I had was marked non-smoking, but I could still make out the cigarette smoke from ages ago. It was sharp enough that I had a bit of trouble falling asleep the first night.
-- Guests. Noise could be a problem. The walls aren't thick. There were kids running up and down the hallway. Some reviews report a lot of parties around concert times, but I wouldn't know.
-- Minor flaws common to budget hotels. The bedspread, furniture, linen, etc. are a bit worn, but functional and acceptable for the price. The TV was an old Zenith, though it had HBO. No microwave or refrigerator in the room. My room was clean except for a hair in the bathtub. If you cannot handle that, you need to go to a non-budget hotel.
