“Wonderful experience every time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My husband and I have stayed here multiple times in the last two years and have loved every day of our stay. We have family in Madison and often visit for 5-7 days at a time. We always stay in the Beaujolais cottage which is like a home away from home. Sandy is a wonderful hostess and treats us like family. She is also a great cook and leaves us wonderful pastries for breakfast.
The cottage is immaculate and well equipped for a comfortable stay. We love the quiet serenity of being out in the vineyard and especially enjoy the screened porch for relaxing. Even our grandchildren like staying with us on the pull out sofa as a special treat. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

“A wonderful experience”

This was our first stay at a B&B and we couldn't have been more pleased. This B&B is located at the Madison Vineyards and our accomodations were great.
We stayed in the Tuscan Room at the B&B and it was very nicely decorated with a queen size bed; satellite TVl; wireless internet, etc. We stayed for 2 nights and each morning, Sandy (one of the owners), prepared a magnificient breakfast for her guests. Both nights we stayed the 4 rooms were filled and 8 of us ate breakfast together.
We received complimentary wire tasting and received a tour of the vineyard and how the grapes are harvested.
We also attended one of the twilight dinner in the evening and it was wonderful, with a bottle of wine coming with your dinner. This was a wonderful experience.

“Waste of money and will NEVER stay there again!”

We found this "B&B" and winery while doing a basic google search. Based upon what we saw on their website coupled with the limited reviews on here we thought we would give it a chance. We have stayed at B&Bs before so we had a reasonable idea of what to expect. Much to our considerable chagrin we were met with utter disappointment.

Let's start with our initial arrival. Upon driving and entering the front office area where the innkeepers were, the lady - whose name I cannot remember - seemed surprised that we were there. I guess she was not expected a dark-skinned person (who is Mediterranean) and a white female to be standing in her office. Her husband continued to stare at his computer refusing to even look at us. Strike one.

She said to follow her to the cottage which we did. Now, I will admit that the cottage was very cute in all respects. She gave us a succinct tour all the while having this odd look on her face as if we were going to hold her hostage. She pointed out that our "breakfast" was in the fridge. This consisted of: four slices of moist zucchini bread, a VERY small loaf of cranberry nut bread - which was the size of a soup can - and one banana and one orange. My wife and I looked at each other in bemused expressions pondering if this was supposed to last us the entire weekend. Surely, we thought, that this was just for one day. I am sure by now the reader of this entry know the outcome: the last morning there they did not re-stock the fridge with any more breakfast foods. The innkeepers, in their infinite wisdom, thought that the scarce amount of food was enough to sustain two adults for the entire weekend. Strike two.

On the second day of our stay we went up to the main house to pay for our lousy stay. The lady of the house said that we could tour the guest rooms in the house which we decided to do. If you go to their website the innkeepers indicated that their rooms have "complimentary chocolates." We were thinking Ghiradelli or something of that nature since it is appears they are one of the "best B&Bs around." I hope visitors enjoy bite-sized Snickers, Nestle Crunch, and other various leftover Halloween chocolate confections because that is what you are going to get. I found this very tasteless and was thanking my lucky stars I did not pony up for a room in the main house. Also, you would think that for $100 a night in the cottage that you would get, at the very least, a free wine tasting. Do not hold your breath people. Also, and I might be over-criticizing here, but the bed in the cottage was the most uncomfortable thing I have slept on since I was in Boy Scouts.

Listen, if you want to stay at a REAL B&B where they people are cordial and where you are getting more bang for your buck, then do not stay here. If you want to get fleeced then by all means Madison B&B is the place for you.

“Lovely place, in a serene rural setting, excellent breakfast!”

We only stayed one night, but wished we had time to stay longer. The hosts were delightful and helped us find a nice dining place in town (Bistro One), and the room (the Alsace) was absolutely lovely, with a great view over the vineyards. We stopped in the winery tasting room first, and as we talked with Sandy (and slurped nice wines), we could see that she really knows her wines. Their house was built to be a B&B and is beautifully designed. Sandy's kitchen is in full view, complete with two ovens! Breakfast was delicious. Too much, but too good not to eat. In all, a truly lovely place to stay, good wines to taste, and really nice hosts to talk with.

“Best Place to Stay in Madison”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2008

My wife and I traveled to Madison this past summer for a week long working vacation. While trying to find a place on-line where we could have a dinning seminar we found Madison Vineyards. We had only been to Madison once before so our decision to have the seminar there and stay at the B&B was purely based on convenience.

When we arrived Sandy & Steve welcomed us into their beautiful home and provided us with a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Tuscan Room, which was immaculate and provided all of the creature comforts one could need.

While we were there Sandy prepared a 3-4 coarse breakfast every morning that was spectacular and very filling. So filling that my wife and I found ourselves having to go back upstairs and take a nap after breakfast. I was also amazed that the entire time we were there Sandy made a different meal every morning.

Steve was also gracious enough to take everyone in the house on a tour of the vineyard followed by a tasting session in their private cellar.

Steve, Sandy and their staff created an atmosphere that made our stay absolutely wonderful. My wife and I can't wait to take another trip to Madison and stay at the Vineyard.
