“Hospitality Kitchen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

I stayed at the Embassy Suites INDY North for 4 days on business recently. Can I tell you I have never been treated so well by anyone in food services in all my years of travel? This hotel has a restaurant and a hospitality kitchen which serves complimentary hot breakfast and a nightly manager's special. Well, as it goes in the IT world I was stuck on a conference call in the room and made it downstairs just minutes after closing. The screen was down and the kitchen already appeared to be cleaned. (BTW it's kept clean even when it is open and serving). This was the third day of my stay so I guess the Chef remembered me. I'd like to think I was getting special treatment because she appeared from nowhere as she saw me shuffling around looking for fruit or whatever I could find. I heard a voice say "have you had anything to eat"? or something to that effect. It sounded so kind, sincere and nurturing to me. I was taken aback because as you know with most places when they’re close they’re close. (doesn’t matter if it is 3-4 minutes after the hour) First, you would not see anyone anywhere and if you did they would be cleaning and closing up shop, and pretending you weren’t there. You gotta picture it, I wasn’t standing at the counter looking for someone the greet me; I was shuffling past the counter when I heard those kind words. After a few uhs an umms I said no actually I haven’t. She ask me what she could make for me…I ordered an omlette which was deliciously made with love and to perfection. (not to hard and not too mushy) Excellent! I had already seen this lady in action earlier in the week with 4-5 orders rolling on the grill at one time and she was handling every guest with the same level of attention and care. 5stars for Lassandra she runs that kitchen likes it’s her own business with love and care for each and every guest I’m sure. I will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Rooms past the atrium are quiter

“Romper Room”

We recently spent a weekend getaway with friends to the Embassy Suites North in Indianapolis. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are roomy and clean. The managers reception and breakfast are both free and wonderful. But we won't be going back anytime soon because it is chaos in the hallways and trying to get an elevator is trying. There was several groups of kids ranging from small to teenagers for some sports gatherings I imagine, and they were completely unsupervised and ran the hallways, from floor to floor, and played in the elevators at any given time of the day. I understand that the parents (or coaches) are the first to blame for not properly parenting or supervising these children, but the hotel has a responsibility to also supervise their facility and unruly guests asked to behave or leave, for the peace and safety of other guests staying there. While eating our breakfast the teens were several floors up throwing candy on top of the diners and when we complained directly to a staff member, he just laughed and did nothing.
Its a shame that such a nice hotel with great ammenities loses a guest, but this has happened. I would suggest another hotel unless you can stand the chaos, noise, long waits for the elevators, nearly being knocked down by running kids, and frustration. We came upon this issue last time and thought it was just bad timing to be staying there, but this trip the problem is even worse, so sadly, it will be our last stay there.

Room Tip: Select another hotel if you want a "quiet relaxing" weekend away.

Embassy Suites Indianapolis North is a great place for travelers to stay and relax. Particularly for business folks it's most suitable in many ways...

Room Tip: Rooms near elevator on second floor are "suites" and almost perfect fit for executives

“Housekeeping staff and Breakfast Chef”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel and was very impressed with the staff and service as a whole but have to single out the 5th floor housekeeper who found my cell phone and returned it to the front desk(nameunknown) as well as the cook Lassandra who was very friendly and professional. I was also amazed as how she was able to keep so many food orders straight without writing them down.

I decided we needed a quick getaway and choose this Embassy Suites. When we arrived it was quiet and we enjoyed a quiet swim. Later we discovered that there were a number of children there for a hockey tournament. While there were children playing in the halls unsupervised and playing in the elevators, you could tell that hotel security was keeping an eye on things. By bedtime we did not have any noise issues. Too bad the hotel staff had to play parent! Because the staff go out of the way to be helpful, I can see why this is a regular stop for some people.
