We were in Fort Wayne for a 5 day dog show. This hotel is pet friendly and has good grassy area for walking your dogs. We always -- yes, always, pick up after the dogs and found the other large dogs folks were good at doing the same. While walking around, I did notice there was a fair amount of small dog poop that had not been picked up. (One small dog owner cleaned up her own dog's poop and then picked up after some other people too.)

Breakfast was good and offered selections of sweets, fruits, cereals, grits, oatmeal, hot eggs and a hot meat selection and sausage gravy daily. Also had hard-boiled eggs.

USA Today was available at the door most days and if not at the door there were some at the breakfast area.

Television choices were good and included HBO.

Pool and hot tub were nice and the hours are long. 6AM to Midnight.

WiFi was a bit challenging from the room but when I walked out to the lobby it would connect and then I walked back to the room. The tech help was friendly but didn't increase my signal strength during the stay.

In addition to the dog show, I visited cousins, toured some cemeteries and county libraries for family history and then spent time at the Allen County Public Library on the genealogical floor.

Really liked this place as a home base and will consider La Quinta brand for future stays too.

Bad location. The window view was a power sub-station. Making a left turn out of there takes a winding road trip around a hospital to find a traffic light. The room..., the fridge was warm, we used coolers instead. The room phone did not work, the ice machine on our floor (3) did not work, the stairwells were filthy and smelled very musty. Many, Many LaQuinta's are wonderful! This IS NOT one of them. Parking is in a large strip mall lot, wherever you find a spot. The billing was also screwed up at departure. No, I would not recommend this hotel, nor will we be staying there again. Please, use your hard earned money elsewhere.

This is a great hotel. The staff is very welcoming, especially the man who worked the 3-11 pm shift, and even though understaffed as I've seen at other LaQuinta's they had a great system of leaving a button on the desk that would ring their phone if you needed them. As soon as you pushed it someone would appear.

Breakfast was always out early and plentiful. Included make your own waffles, biscuts and gravy, sausage and pre formed scrambled eggs, hardboiled eggs, all pastry was individually wrapped. Fruit, yogurt, cereals. And several variety of flavored coffee creamers. The breakfast area was large and on the other side of the room had a couch and sitting area in front of the tv and computer in the corner. No printer for the computer.

The room was large and had a closet with iron and ironing board. Has a microwave and fridge in the room. But that was the only problem - its a fridge only - No freezer compartment, I find this odd, as a traveler I need the freezer compartment to re freeze ice packs for my cooler during the day. If you turned the fridge down too low it would freeze your sodas.

Beds were super comfy - lots of great pillows. Towels thicker than most LaQuintas. shower was great, except the last few days of my stay when I noticed the water was not very hot - but if I left it running for a few minutes it warmed up - I was getting up very early - 5 am. In room coffeemaker and hair dryer. Vanity area was slightly small but you can make due. Really an outstanding room. Good amount of floor space even though there were two large beds.

Very dog friendly and I got a requested room at the end of a hallway near a side door. Lots of grass out back and a good sized field behind the strip mall that is next to the hotel. It was a weird arrangement - the hotel is basically in a strip mall. Safe area though, I felt safe even walking my dogs late at night. There were a lot of road construction workers at the hotel but they were polite and quiet. I never got to eat at the Trolly rest. right next door but was told it was very good. There is also a 24 hour fitness place, several rest. and other assorted businesses in the area.

I would recommend this hotel!

I stayed at the LQ for a single night during a trip through Ohio. I had booked the room based on the past reviews which were quite good. I found the room to be somewhat expensive, but after all it was a holiday weekend. What I found on arrival may not fully justify the price but it was definitely one of the best LQs I have ever been to (and I'm a Returns-member). The hotel is in great shape: Clean carpets, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, the golden bedcovers (see photo) which did not have a single stain or hole. I felt absolutely comfortable. Hot coffee and newspapers are available in the lobby 24/7 (in addition to the in-room equipment), the pool area looked great (indoors). The area, well, I call it a typical motel location: interstate exit, restaurants and motels. You'll find some restaurants or take-out nearby, even within walking distance (the hotel is at the backward end of small mall).
I strongly recommend staying here if you are ever in the area. I did mention the price which I found exaggerated at the time, looking a few months later the price seems reasonable!
