Wenona, IL has few choices of accommodations, but the Super 8 is fine for a stopover. The motel is clean, and the proprietor is very helpful. When we had trouble with the wi-fi, he allowed us to use his own internet connection. Bed was comfortable, and breakfast included very nice pastries along with cereals, breads, bagels, coffee, juice, and milk. I hope that the motel can be successful because the people who run it are trying hard.

We do work in the Wenona area 20-30 days out of the year and used to stay at this hotel 10-12 times a year, now we make the easy drive to either Streator or Oglesby because of the management at this hotel. We almost always use an online booking website so the boss can prepay for the room. On our last visit there was a mistake made on the booking date, the reservation was made for the previous night. When we tried to check in we were told there were no more reservations that night so there must be some mistake. The front desk staff then called the manager to see if there was anything she could do for us. The manager told us to call the online booking company (after she gave us a lecture about arriving on the correct night) to work out new arrangements so I did. The online booking company called the manager and the manager (after telling us to call the online booking company) told her and us there was nothing she could do. I called my boss and he had me call the online booking company back and make a new reservation for that night and when we tried to do that, the manager said she was out of regular rooms and all she had left was a suite even though the parking lot was empty and we had already been told there were no more reservations booked for that night.. We will not be back to this Unsuper 8!

Overall a very nice stay. The rooms were very clean. The air conditioner was surprisingly very quiet (our baby slept right next to it and didn't wake up). They had a good continental breakfast (bagels, muffins, danish's, oj, etc.). Our non-smoking room was truly non-smoking and we didn't smell any odor while we were there. There is a nice little family restaurant in downtown Wenona called Georgetown, which has a nice atmosphere. For a Super 8, this is probably the best one hotel of this chain we have ever stayed in. Would definitely stay here again.

On a recent trip from GA to MN I spent a night at this property. Normally I tend not to stay at Super 8's, but this was about the half way point of my trip. I can honestly say that this was the best Super 8 I have ever stayed at. It was clean, quite and the beds were very comfortable. In reviewing my stay, I cannot find one thing that was wrong with this property, other than the fact that it was 2 below zero that night.
