“A little less than I expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

I used my Marriott points to get a free room. My overall impression is that is was a sub par Fairfield Inn. The room looked clean....but the bed sheets felt odd.....the bathroom sink surface had a oily substance that I had to use a towel to clean off.

Once I did go to sleep I was very comfortable. I did have to turn off the room heater because it was hard to regulate. I have found that a common problem with the wall AC/Heater units. I turn them off and the room cools off, but makes for some good sleeping but you have to turn it back on before you get in the shower.

The free breakfast was OK. I am on a diet and they had boiled eggs which was good. They have OJ and apple juice, milk, cereal, and some frozen breakfast sandwiches. They had apples that looked fresh, but the bananas looked like they were frozen and turning black.

So would I go back there. Maybe. There are other hotels in the immediate are cheaper. I usually like to stay at Marriott hotels that offer a free breakfast, but lately, they have been cheap and cutting corners.

Would I recommend this to a friend. Maybe....the area is nice. Near a lot of shopping and restaurants so that might factor in. If it were for a one night stay probably. If longer than one, night probably not.

Some of the comments I read about this place have been fixed. The staff was very nice. The gentleman that checked me in was very friendly. The young lady that was the night clerk was polite, but not overly friendly. The hot tub and pool looked very clean so whatever problems they had in the past have been corrected.

“Fairfield Inn gives you what you expect from a Fairfield Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

The place worked for me. Clean, fairly quiet and a decent free breakfast. I wasn't looking for luxury so I didn't get it. Staff was courteous and pleasant. Since it was business for me I really didn't use the place for much else than sleep but I would go back.

“economical accomoadtion”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2010

Nothing special about this hotel. The rooms are clean and quiet but it seemed to me that the ACs are way underpowered. TVs are generic CRTs. There is low water pressure in the bathrooms....which makes for a weak shower. The toileteries/towels etc were of the cheap generic kind. There is no fitness center at the hotel but they give you free access to a LA Fitness nearby....which was god.

This hotel is good enough for an economic stay but not much more.

“Clean, convenient, just what we were looking for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2010

Great location right off of I-80 with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and was ready early enough to catch before our meetings (not always the case). All in all it wasn't a luxury getaway, but more than adequate for our needs and a great price for the area.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 April 2009

The swimming pool was practically the size of a postage stamp. The hot tub was filthy with a brown scum all the way around it. We overheard someone complaining to the staff about it the night we arrived and the next morning it looked even filthier. Obviously nothing had been done about it and the pool area was back open for business. There were people sitting around drinking in the hotel dining/breakfast area all evening. They seemed to be friends with the hotel clerk. This is directly at the entrance to the hotel, across from the check in desk. The staff is not all that helpful. We made arrangements the week prior for our rooms and they had "misplaced" our reservations when we came to check in. I honesty think that they gave our rooms away and then offered us a pull out cot to sleep on instead. I was a bit upset to say the least. They finally gave us rooms at opposite ends of the floor and we were traveling as a family. Oh, $20 was credited to our entire bill for 2 rooms, not nearly enough for the inconvenience they caused us. We went down later for towels for our rooms since they only gave us 2 sets in a double queen room. You would think they'd at least give you enough for 3 people staying in a double queen room, but they didn't. In fact, they could only offer us one towel because they were plum out apparently. The breakfast bar had much to be desired. Although it looked appetizing in the pictures, we elected to go out for breakfast after seeing what they had to offer. Oh, did I mention all the torn bedding? I wouldn't stay there again on a return trip to that area. I'll take my chances with another hotel. This one seemed to be poorly managed.
