“Very updated and well maintained near airport hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This is an extremely nice reasonably priced hotel. The rooms are very up to date and well maintained (see pics). New and very clean bathrooms. Flat screen TV. The gym is a good size and updated. There are three restaurants on site a Capital Grill, McCormic and Schmits, and a hotel restaurant all open until 10 pm. They also have a hotel bar that is open until midnight. The front lobby looks very updated. Also their shuttle, that will pick you up at the airport, is very nice it is more like a limo bus then a shuttle. All and all a great experience and excellent service. I wold recommend staying here.

“Sets a new standard for airport hotels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Ok...been staying at Hyatt for years, and there are 2 nice properties in the area of this hotel. As much as i love Hyatt, INtercontinental is also a favorite hotel experience...and this one trumps all others.

Location is great, right at Ohare. Great shuttle service. Rooms are exquisite, as you would expect from Intercontinental.

The artwork thru the hotel is wonderful.

If anything, the rooms are TOO nice for an airport hotel The beds, too luxurious. Its hard to get up in time to make your plane!

Love you IC Ohare! I will be back....

And i am one of your Royal Ambassadors....so you treat me really well, but i wont mention those perks here!

Room Tip: If it has a bed...its a GREAT room in this hotel. You simply cant go wrong. There really isnt an...

“Comfortable, hip, but oddly expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I was at this hotel for a conference in January. Knowing that it is a Holiday Inn property at the airport, I definitely had pretty basic, low expectations. But this hotel is an oddly hip gem -- the property is filled with art (they even have galleries) and everything appears structured for hipness. The bed in my King Deluxe room was quite comfortable but they could have made more concessions to comfort, sacrificing some of the cool factor. The "couch" wasn't really intended for sitting and, while pretty and sparse, the bathroom lacked a sizeable countertop, making it a balancing game to keep all of my travel toiletries there. This was made up for in the amazing rainspa shower, however. There was also a very odd assortment of brass birds staring at me from the "closet". Very cool, but also a little bit odd. At any rate, this hotel would get 5 stars for airport hotels but 4 stars overall just because it was a little too aimed for hipness and was quite expensive for the amenities (internet, no breakfast or coffee). Customer service was fantastic. Word of caution, however: don't believe them when they tell you a cab to Midway Airport is $35. It will actually run you closer to $85.

“Love the InterContinental”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We booked another Park, Sleep & Fly thru the Intercontinental Chicago O'Hare. We received the best service during check in and the shuttles were timely. NOTE: Normally, the shuttle drops off at the International terminal last. This time the shuttle went to the International terminal first which we did not realize. The driver announced Frontier Airlines. We asked if it was the International terminal & he yelled in a gruff voice, "I said it was International". When we went to the back of the shuttle to retrieve our lugguage I told the gentleman we simply asked a question & I felt the delivery of his answer did not have to be so rude. He was even more rude, shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know what you want lady". As he was walking away he was shaking his head. Nice... We vacation 3-4 times a year so it is not like we don't know our way around an airport. He treated us like it was our "first trip to town". It would have been a prefect stay otherwise. The way we were treated by the driver is not the best way to start a vacation.

Dear guest,
We are very sorry about the way the driver communicated with you. We will look into this and make sure to review the incident. Normally, the service provided is exactly as you'd like it to be - friendly, helpful, and professional. This did not happen in your case.
Otherwise, we are very glad to read that your stay was good and that you enjoyed the hotel. We hope your vacation was relaxing.
