All in all it was a so-so property. We booked two adjoining rooms on a cross country road trip with my two toddlers, two dogs, husband and mother-in-law. We were on the second floor and booked non-smoking rooms, but the whole hallway reeked of cigarettes. Once in the rooms they were fresh and clean, but the air-conditioners were pretty loud. One of our rooms had a queen and there was a ton of extra space where the other bed would have been, which was perfect for our two pack-n-plays. The pool was a little bit scary with dead bugs floating on top. There was a loud fan trying to circulate the air inside the pool area but it was still hotter than heck in there. There were also standing puddles of water with gross stuff floating in them. The hotel is conveniently across the street from a Quizno's that was delicious. The free breakfast was decent except their waffle maker was broken, which thoroughly disappointed my husband. They had hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, toast, bagels and pastries. I would probably not stay there again since the whole place had sort of a dingy feel to it, but maybe that's just Metropolis in July.
