We had just stayed the night before in an America's Best Value Inn in Kentucky so we were very surprised in how much better the one in KY was over this one in Metropolis by contrast. When we arrived in 90+ degree weather we were disappointed to find the air conditioner had not been turned on in the sweltering room. The bath towels (they supplied two) were not clean- one was threadbare and the other had stains. On our second day's stay they did not clean the room, make the beds or empty the trash cans. They only sent someone around to swap out the two towels. The bathtub once had a mat that was removed leaving a big stain in its absence. The shampoo supplied was in what is best described as two ketchup packets and was not replenished after the first day. The room has no clock, no refrigerator and the TV was hung at a peculiarly high level. The ceiling had a big crack in it and water stains, there is no carpet. To use the table and chairs you had to pull them away from the TV blocking use of the door. Only one door key was supplied and there is no pool or restaurant. The rate here was higher than the America's Best Value Inn in Kentucky which had none of the above problems and was pleasant and comfortable.

Advertised amenities are wrong: there is no pool, no restaurant, no room service, no casino. Breakfast consists of pre-packaged danishes and coffee. All fire extinguishers were missing from the stairwells.
More subjectively, our room was DIRTY! Within 5 minutes of taking off our shoes, the bottoms of our feet were BLACK. The shower hadn't been cleaned in a very long time and the shower head was barely 5 feet high. A 6' piece of the faux marble vanity was missing.
They DID accept pets, but the housekeeper agreed not to enter the room (no do-not-disturb signs) because our large dog was in her kennel in the room, but as soon as we moved our car, she went in anyway.

As the last review said, the hotel is conveniently located and recently renovated. They are indeed nice rooms, especially for the price, with tasteful, contemporary decoration, flat screen TV, and as adequate space as you could expect for such a room.

My room was already cooled when I went in, with the air going and comfortable. Unlike the previous reviewer, my room was clean and stain free. The bed was clean and comfortable and I had a great night's stay. Great sleep quality. It was quiet, despite the hotel appearing to be half full. No one disturbed me, especially the morning staff. I never heard them.

And there was no typical motel smell either. It was great.

Also, the hotel also has WiFi with a great broadcast and reception.

This was a lower priced hotel, but even at the price we pay I would expect a little better. The rooms have been newly remodeled and are beautiful, but ours wasn't very clean. There was a spray of something the color of dried blood on the bathroom wall--not sure what it was. From the website it didn't appear that all the rooms opened to the outdoors, I was expecting an interior hallway. At 7:30am my fiance and I were woken up by one of the cleaning staff yelling to another staff member outside our door.
For no continental breakfast and no pool I guess I would have rather paid $10 more and stayed at another chain down the road that had both.
