Liked it, and the consistency of the quality of this chain was true to form here. We wanted to stay in Lake Forest proper, at the Deer Path Inn, but the reviews were so bad we decided not to. It's a short 5 minute drive from the Residence Inn, so while not in a charming village setting, we at least got a comfortable, clean play to stay. Great price-- thank you for providing such a good price/value ratio for us! If I were to make one improvement it would be to make the breakfast a little less high salt, high carb, high sugar orientation. Thanks....

My husband and I stayed at this hotel during Thanksgiving--a total of three nights. My sister-in-law was hosting the Thanksgiving dinner at her place in Lake Bluff--6 miles away. I was amazed at the grand size of the studio king room and the nice quality of the furnishings. There's a full sized frig, microwave, two burner stove, sink, dishwasher, coffee pot, table and chairs plus all of the cutlery and dishes and cookware you could ever need. The toiletries are very meager--just shampoo and conditioner. Bar soaps. I give the room, maid service and front desk staff 5 stars, however, I am knocking it down a star because the manager should have had more staff on hand to deal with the breakfast crowds (free hot breakfast with your room). We experienced food shortages each morning. All tables were filled and the food in various categories had run out. My husband and I both had to go up to the front desk at various times before we could sit to let them know food had run out. The kitchen staff (I think only one person) was trying to cook up eggs, etc in the back but he couldn't keep up with the demand on the yogurts, milk, etc. There is a pool and jacuzzi but we didn't go in since there was a sign on the jacuzzi saying it was waiting for maintenance. Too bad. The front desk staff member said she would arrange for us to go to the neighboring Hilton Garden Inn's jacuzzi for free. But we didn't want to go out to the cold in our flip flops and bathing suits. Exercise room available but with too few machines--always full. I would suggest that the hotel have exercise mats, weights, ball, bands that they rent out as a package with an exercise DVD of your choice: yoga, aerobic, etc.since the rooms are spacious enough. Staff were very kind and clearly wanted to please us. They just need more staff for special weekends.

I stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott during my business trip this year. The rooms were excellent, the heating was good and view of the freeway was refreshing. I found the staff very courteous and the free pick-up & drop service to our client next doors was really appreciated during the extreme cold. The gym & pool were also real good.
Only one negative that I can think is that they did not have too many vegetarian options in the ready-made food options, but other than that I did not have much to complain.

Stayed at this property in Oct,11 as it was very close to our head office and supplied a free shuttle to work each day. Staff were very helpful and created a bright and friendly atmosphere. Studio rooms were spacious and modern complete with m/wave, hotplate and dishwasher and small shop at reception supplied essentials for a late night snack. The only improvement I would consider making would be the installation of secondary or double glazing to reduce the noise from the nearby freeway. (I used the a/c fan to mask the noise)
