We stayed one night here in December 2010, two adults, one 11 year old boy and one 1 year old dog. We pad less than $60 for the room and that included the pet charge! The room had two queen beds, microwave and mini-fridge which were nice touches. There is a somewhat odd oder in the hotel. I noticed it in the lobby at check-in and again once we entered the room. Whatever it is seems to disappate pretty quickly and within a couple of mintues I didn't notice it anymore. The lobby and rooms are warmly decorated which is nice for a budget motel. I gave a low score to sleep quality because there was a very roudy and loud couple in the room next door, about 1AM!! It took two calls and a personal visit to the front desk before it stopped for good. Overall this was a nice hotel considering the price and we would stay here again.

While i wouldnt want to just hang out here, it is a good value for a quick overnight stay.
I was given a smoking room, which i didnt enjoy, but otherwise everything was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly. Also, it's in an easy location and near all the restaurants and convenience stores.

I made a reservation here on the recommendation of my College Homecoming committee. I went to Jacksonville, Illinois, 20 years after graduating college there and no other information. This place did not exist when I was there in college. Went to check in, not a bad experience, however, went to the room and it smelled like someone held a urinal cake to each of my nostrils...totally horrible. My sinuses clogged up immediately. I found a yellow pages book in the nightstand and called another motel in town, I have to say this is a small town with 18,000 pop., but found another place to stay. Went to tell the desk folks about the horrid smell and they gave me attitude, called the owner and made the process a bit miserable. I ended up not being charged but there was no way I could stay there. The desk staff told me the only place I would be able to find residence would be the hooker hotel down the street! I stayed at Blackhawk Inn in Jacksonville, IL, for a lesser fee, and it was very nice. DO NOT USE SUPER 8 IN JACKSONVILLE ILLINOIS.

We stayed in this hotel on a business trip and would highly recommend it! The general manager was incredibly friendly and helpful -- Super 8 should use him to train staff at their other locations. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was easily accessible to all of the city. Their free breakfast in the morning leaves a little to be desired, but for a budget hotel, it was fine. It was this Super 8 stay that has inspired by to stay at Super 8 more regularly -- I'll have a few more nights booked at various locations this fall -- I hope they measure up to the excellent service of the one in Jacksonville.
