The location is good. It's a short drive to the dowtown area where the shops are. The room we stayed in was ground level and our view was of the parking lot - so that wasn't anything special. The room was clean, the staff was nice, and the breakfast was o.k. (just the standard continental breakfast with cereal, toast, make your own waffles etc). Nothing really negative to say.

I had the occasion to stay at the Ramada in Galena twice last month and it was a very nice experience. Check-in was smooth, the room was very quaint looking with beautiful quilts on each bed and pillow covers. Oh yes, pillows, there were 3 or 4 on each bed, a plus whenever I travel because I have a bad back and I must have a pillow for my back and two pillows for my head.

Between the 2 queen beds there was the table which was fashioned out of an old school desk from long long ago, going along with the antiques that are sold downtown Galena. It was nice, but it kind of sloped and whatever you put on it started to slide. Nice touch though. Beds very comfortable.

There is a sink in the bed area along with the full sink in the bathroom. It did come in handy to use when the other was being used. Very nice sized bathroom. TV was not flat screen, but it had many channels and worked fine. Also free wifi was fast. My only complaint/concern would be the carpeting which was really soiled, it needs to be replaced...

We didn't partake of the breakfast offerings, but walked around the motel in the morning and went in to the indoor pool area, it's a GIANT pool, I don't know the dimensions, but it looked very large. Further down the hallway there's a door to the outside and you walk out to a large deck that goes around the motel with tables and chairs. There's also a very pretty pool with beautiful landscaping to view.

The price can't be beat, especially for the week nights, the price does go up on the weekends, by a lot. I would definitely recommend this place for its affordability, pleasant room and beautiful deck/outdoor setting.

Our room was ok but could be a little cleaner, under the bed was dusty and they didn't clean one day because we didn't leave our room before the cleaning staff came thru. Breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful about the town.

We have stayed at this hotel for the last 6 or 7 years on our annual vacation to Galena. We have always been satisfied with the clean rooms, comfortable beds and continental breakfast. The staff are great and went beyond their call of duty on our last stay in helping us celebrate our 60th wedding aniversary.
