We stayed in one of the villas, it was very nice and comfortable. It had everything one would need, to enjoy a nice stay. Suprised us it had a real wood burning fireplace, something we really enjoyed on a January evening. Check in went smooth and found the help to be very helpful and nice. Would definately stay here again.

This was the second time we spent New Year's Eve at Eagle Ridge. The first time was over 10 years ago and the party was elegant with live entertainmnent and adults only. However, this time their resort site was clear that it is "Annual Family New Year's Eve Party" and should have known better and choose somewhere else. We called in our reservation (December 30 - January 1) and knew that a 2 night stay was required. The reservation process was good and we booked Room 207 (short walk to Main Lodge and no stairs to room; King Superior Courtyard room at $197.10 plus 11% room tax and 9.13% Room Amenity fee per night.) One night deposit was due on booking with a 7 day cancellation policy which included a refund but with a $35.00 processing fee. This room had a balcony with chairs and table overlooking the lake. The property is outstanding and includes golf courses and an excellent restaurant where we always order veal pot roast. When we checked in we were given a paper resort card for charging meals/drinks, etc. to our room. Note: Paper card is not practical for using at pool and having to carry your room key and the paper charge card. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The area the tub/toilet is in is very small but had a door. The New Year's Eve party was $35.00 per person plus 19% gratituity and 6.75% tax. (Children were $16.00, I think). It was from 7 pm to 1 am with a buffet from 7 - 9 pm. You were seated at tables of 8 - 10 and kept those seats throughout the evening. The buffet was set up outside the Eagle Ridge Ballroom and included a few appetizers, prime rib, pork loin, fish pasta, salads and petite desserts..all very delicious. (The waitress and chef (carver) said to ask for anything we didn't see and I heard one woman asked for chicken for her child). They had a cash bar and champagne toast at midnight. They had a beautiful ice sculpture on the buffet and the theme was black and silver having clocks on most of the tables and one projected the time on the wall (very elegant). Each person received a hat and noise makers and they had a balloon drop at midnight. They had a DJ as entertainment (Scorpion, I think) who was good and asked the attendees for any song they wanted to hear. The DJ made many announcements for children activities at pool and other areas. The banquet manager, Pam, had planned that those who had brought children would be on one half the room and those who were couples only on the other side. (It looked like there was an almost an even split of those with children and those without). As nice as it was, we definitely will not consider any property where children (under 16) are invited for midnight celebration. We do have 4 grown children and 11 grandchildren but wanted a special night for just "two". It was interesting that most guests were elegantly dressed except for the younger parents who had jeans and T shirts on while they dressed their little girls in party dresses. The problem was many, many kids under 6 years old running around the dance floor (holding their drinks) past midnight making the remaining adult couples concerned for them and not enjoying themselves dancing the night away (except for dancing on carpet by their tableside). We saw one little boy just sitting on the dance floor for quite a while until one woman dancing accidentally kicked the boy in the head with a high heel. It also was interesting that the young Moms were dancing with each other and the kids while some of the Dads sat by the fireplace in the Main Lodge or at the other bar. At the buffet, we saw children take food, taste it and put it back on the table (Mom's saw it but took no action). So ....if you want an elegant evening with your partner, find someplace else. I must compliment the resort for doing all they could do to make it a wonderful memory for all but the parents of the small children ruined it by their lack of concern for others.

Stayed here for a friends wedding and the entire resort experience was the worst hotel experience (and I stay at a lot of hotels) in my life. In fact I have never before given less than a 3 star rating on trip advisor or other sites until now. Rooms stink like mold and mildew and are filthy. Housekeeping rarely made up the room, evidenced by them not washing shaving cream out of the sink. Front desk and restaurant staff were very slow and rude. The bar scammed me with over a $100 of additional drinks that no one in my party was even drinking, when I asked the server (ashley g.) to fix it they refused and further refused to get me a manager stating they were all gone for the night. Just overall dirty employees, rude service, dirty facilities.

The scenic view from my room would have been the only positive except that the windows were so dirty I couldn't see out them.

Stay away from here! Stay somewhere closer to town where the staff appreciate having a job and appreciate your business. Stay somewhere that won't steal and scam you. Stay somewhere you can breath air not infested with mold.

We had a wonderful time at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa; we typically visit the week before Christmas; but my kids had holiday break this year so we went the week after New Year. The resort has lots of fun activities planned for adults and children. Typically there is snow for cross country skiing, sledding, ice skating, etc; but this year it was unseasonably warm. Most of their activities are included with your room rate so were were disappointed we weren't able to take advantage of the winter recreational ammenities; but we did travel to Chestnut Mt. for skiing and enjoyed downtown Galena.
