“Sum it up in one word: Brilliant”

Our first visit to Chicago would have been only half as tremendous without the accommodation provided by Sally at the God Coast Guest House. We could have stayed at a faceless, charmless hotel perhaps a few minutes closer to downtown, but seriously, for the benefit of having a safe, secure, warm, welcoming place to come back to after a day of exploring Chicago, its really a no-brainer. Book here.
Sally made every effort to make us feel welcome, and while the initially communal feel to the place may deter some, you have as much privacy as anywhere else.
Breakfast sees a full board beyond what you'll get at hotels costing twice as much, with access to snacks as well if needed for the day.
The room we stayed in was spacious, warm, well appointed with large walk-in shower, gorgeous high-thread count sheets, and flat-screen TV.
The location is a 2 min walk to the Clark-Division subway stop and 1 stop to Magnificent Mile - there's heaps of restaurants in the immediate area (check out Bistrot Zinc), pharmacies, grocery stores, twee little shops, etc. - you're not more than a few mins walk from everything you should need.
All-in-all, this guest house made a wet and potentially miserable weekend getaway to Chicago a brilliant delightful excursion.

Room Tip: There's only 4 rooms - the master suite upstairs is the biggest, but you'll contend w/ 2 fli...

“Aloha Spirit In Chicago!”

We have been visiting Chicago almost every year since 1984 and stayed in various hotels. In 2008 we discovered "our home away from home" at the Gold Coast Guest House B&B. Here, we've met some of the nicest people from different parts of the world, including Sally, the owner. This has been our 5th time at her B&B. It has the greatest location, half a block to the subway and buses, 1 1/2 block to a 24hr grocery store and a block or two to a bunch of restaurants and bars. We have stayed in 3 of the 4 rooms which were very clean, with plush beds and fluffy towels. The carpet throughout have been replaced this past year with newly painted walls and the entire place has been tastefully decorated. There is more than enough food and drinks for breakfast with 24hr access to the fridge with treats for the guests. Sally is involved in the community, very well informed about events going on and has great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. She and her staff are very warm and friendly, and always accommodating. They make us feel right at home.
We will definitely be back. Mahalo, Sally! Aloha, Keith & Debbie Honolulu, Hawaii

Only sweet dreams on this Elm Street! What a great B&B. The Rough Guide wasn't lying when it told us to stay at the Gold Coast Guest House with it's friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable hostess! The sheets are silky soft, the towels fluffy and it all comes with a never ending breakfast. This beautiful old house is located in a lovely quiet neighbourhood one block from the subway. Just park your car in the garage next to the B&B and get comfertable in downtown Chicago!
