We have stayed at the Maud House on a couple different occasions. Having grown up in Chicago and visiting there a couple times of year we have always been on the look out for a place that is reasonably priced and close to transportation. Maud House is located in Lincoln Park and actually has all the shopping, restaurants and entertainment you want within a couple of blocks. The El train is a short, convenient walk to get downtown or anywhere else you might desire. The house is a quaint restored house from the 1800's. It has three bedrooms each with a private bath. It also sports a full kitchen with dishwasher and breakfast is self serve with the innkeeper stocking the refrigerator. Although we also like B&B's with prepared and served breakfasts, for the fast pace and late nights of Chicago this works our perfect for us to get up at our convenience and fix what we desire. We rented the entire house this Thanksgiving holiday for our family. The full kitchen allowed us to have our regular meal without the hassle of going out or trying to find an open restaurant. Heather Berman is a very accommodating and gracious innkeeper. She even provided the ingredients we had forgotten from her own stock (she lives next door) After we left, she called me to let me know that we had left a camera behind in the room. She shipped it out to us that night. We have had an experience like this in the past only to have the property not returned, so it was very refreshing to find such a honest housekeeper. Heather shipped it out to us that very night We will continue to visit the Maud House and highly recommend it!
