This is an old motel that I’ve stayed at many times over the years, but not recently. It’s still well maintained and friendly. We stayed in a room (#232) with two full-size beds and there was plenty of room. There was a refrigerator and a microwave in the room, along with a coffeemaker. The beds were comfortable. The only negative was that the carpet was worn and the room had a slight musty smell—not enough to request another room but probably from the old carpet, maybe if smoking was allowed in the room in the past. Wi-fi is available along with a computer in the lobby. Great breakfast—giant muffins, biscuits and gravy, hardboiled eggs, do-it-yourself waffles, etc. They also offer a do-it-yourself steak dinner that you can cook on the outside grill. Good value and I would have given it a “very good” rating except for the smell in the room
We have been coming to Orofino to visit relatives and to take friends to this wonderful Motel for some 35 years. Off and on we stayed here and no matter who was running it it has always been a very pleasant experiance... The motel it self has always been very clean, the pool great and afew years ago they added the Grill Your Own Steaks which is just wonderful also! We started bringing our motorcycle friends down with us afew years ago because it is a great ride there and such a nice place to stay that they have even started started bringing their friends to this wonderful motel.... We have another motorcycle trip planned for July 2011 and are greatly looking forward to it! Oh, and the rates are so reasonable for what you get!
Nice big rooms, pool and a hot tub. They also offer dinner and it was wonderful! We got to cook our own steaks on the grill. Would stop here again for sure!
If you stop in Orofino, take the extra three minutes to drive through town to the Konkolville Motel. This little family-owned place is neat as a pin, quiet, and the staff are great. A simple breakfast is included. There's a pool and hot-tub, well-maintained. On weekend nights they sell a steak dinner package, and you can fire up the grills in the courtyard and have your own cookout. In early May, we paid $50 for our double room, and were tickled to death with that price, considering what we got.
