“NEW MGR WAS A TOTAL JERK!”

Been going to grandjean for 18 yrs and have always had a wonderful time and have experience a friendly and helpful staff until this trip.Upon arriving we were told there was no room for us and that we'd have to go up the road to the forest service campground which was fine; in the process of spending over 100.00 bucks on swimming and shakes which btw were a total rip off we asked for a couple pieces of firewood since we didnt bring any in anticipation that we'd be staying at the lodge where it is provided; well our response was unreal, the mgr scott scoffed at me and when i offered to purchase a lil rudely replied that hes not in the firewood buisness!!! Thats strike one, strike two was when we went in to get our shakes and while we were deciding to order he rudely said and i quote " Is this an order or not because ive got rooms to clean"!! Then we get our 4 dollar shakes and theyre in lil 8 ounce dixie cups total rip off! We were treated like a dollar which is a far cry from the grandjean i remember! Scott's people skills make a caveman look like a smooth operater, you can tell the guy hates people. I would definitely not recommend grandjean and chances are that i will not be back!!!!

“Worst place ever”

The website for this place is attractive for those who think they are going to have a rustic cabin in a nice piece of Idaho mountain wilderness.
We got to the gravel road (6 miles of it) that leads to the lodge area, checked in, and was assigned our rustic cabin. We were unable to pay as they requested because the power had just gone out. This was supposedly due to a great abundance of RVs who were also camped on the property and were told not to use the electricity. Somebody apparently did, and it blew out the whole site's. We came back later for basically the only thing on the menu at the "lodge," which was spareribs. Well, they were so tough you couldn't cut them (and for the grand price of $18.95). The cabin we had had linoleum flooring, there was junk lying all over the grassy areas where the cabins were (junk that could have been gotten rid of), and the general sight was just plain junky. They finally got the electricity up and running, only to have it go out again later in the evening - and it never came on in the morning before we left either. It was apparently connected somehow to the water supply, so we had no water as well. No water even to brush our teeth with. This was the scrappiest place and most disappointing place we'd ever stayed at (we had previously just stayed at a rough and primitive "tent camp" around Clark Fork, Idaho, and it was luxury compared to this place).
We were supposed to stay there three nights; when we had no water in the morning and no electricity, we left (we had paid for 3 nights) and never came back, forfeiting our second two nights. It was that bad and undesirable. Never again!

  • Liked — Nothing.
  • Disliked — Junkiness.
