“Destination Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Had to travel to Coeur d'Alene in January for business, and luckily I received a local recommendation to stay at the resort. What a beautiful hotel! The rooms were great - split level, nice work desk, seating area on the lower level, and a very comfortable bed. My room had the city view which was okay, but I would recommend asking for a lake view (and a higher floor). The bathroom area was divided between the sink/dressing area and bath/toilet area - plenty of room and counter space. Some others have mentioned that the rooms are dated, but I did not find that at all. Good indoor pool and nice fitness area. A portion of the lobby and bar/coffee shop were undergoing remodeling so I can't comment on those facilities. Also did not get to try the spa - but it looked very nice.

There is a large park next to the hotel, and of course you're on the lake. Downtown restaurants and shops are all within walking distance - and there is a very vice restaurant with good food on the 7th floor. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

“Love this place!”

We stayed here for our annual Christmas shopping spree in the lovely little town. We were on the 10th floor and had a beautiful view and oh so comfy bed. The roms are always immaculate and crisp and fresh which is so important. We had our four year old diaghter with us who would rather relish the view and autmatic curtains and fireplace than watch TV. The service is always over the top friendly and helpful. We always eat at The Dockside which never disappoints. I have had services in the spa and they are always great but this time I had a European Facial plus contouring eye treatment from Dawne which was AMAZING and I highly recommend!

I plan to come back by myself next month as I often do for a little quick "Mommy Getaway". Very peaceful, calming and luxurious!
We will be back

“"From Leavenworth to Coeur d'Alene"”

After a long drive we made a last minute stop and were lucky to get a room over the holidays. We signed up for the spa package and didn't regret it after the long drive. King room with step down seating area was a plus. The only negative was the dark lighting in the dressing bath area.
The weather was poor, we stayed indoors and enjoyed the spa and shopping, then dinner at Beverlys. Awesome food and wine options with a great view. I dont usually have bread however the orange glaze rolls were exceptional and somthing I've never tasted. Valet service friendly and speedy. Positives Spa and Beverlys, I would return in the spring or summer.

Room Tip: Rooms close to the spa are a plus. If your having a massage ask for violet. Her deep tissue is to...

“Nice Resort, but......”

The good:
The scenery from the hotel and the surrounding area is really quite beautiful.
The hotel grounds are spotless and very pretty. The service is first rate, from the valet parking, nightly turn down service, and Beverly's.
The wine cellar is very impressive, and The sommelier was very gracious, knowledgeable, and helpful.
The golf course is a top ten world of golf experience. The course fairways are the best I've ever played on, and although the greens had been recently top dressed, they played fast and true. To many little details to mention. If you love golf, you will love this course.
Dinner at Beverly's was just fine, thank you. See separate review in restaurants section of trip advisor.
The room design (lake view king suite) is excellent, with huge picture windows overlooking the marina and the lake. Nice seating area a step down from the bed area, and a small outdoor balcony.

The bad:
OMG, why do they think the whole world wants to hear the bar singer with the guitar play the same tired songs from the floating stage night after night.
Every night we were driven into our rooms by the racket. Not that the guy was all that bad, mind you, but if I want lounge music, I'll go to a lounge. I don't need to be reminded of the upcoming "booze cruise" every ten minutes either. Completely ruined a peaceful evening on our balcony. Seriously. What are they thinking????
The hotel property and adjacent shops are a bit tired. Looks like they were designed in the eighties, and not much upgrading since then. Kind of a flashback feeling.  armchairs in the living rom area were pretty much worn out.

Overall, a pretty decent experience. A little overpriced, but you are paying for the lake views.would I come back? Likely no. Been there, done that, and the world is full of places I need to see.
Plus, that lounge singer is the straw that breaks this camels back. Seriously........what in the WORLD are they thinking??.?
