I have quite mixed feelings about this hotel. There are 2 parking lots. The nearest one is a bit small so I had to park in the lot further away. No biggie. But after I checked in, they told me I had to shlep back to my car and put the parking pass on my rearview mirror. Not the end of the world. But they should really have a better system. When I get to the room, I discover that the phone had been unplugged which meant that it lost the battery charge. It was the only phone in the room. So I had to wait for it re-charge in order to call the front desk to ask them why the lights to the bathroom are controlled by a lightswitch near the hotel room door??? The clerk acknowledged that this was inconvenient. Who designed this place?? The lights for the bathroom...should be in (or at least near) the bathroom!! Then when I finally settle down to sleep, I realize that the "retro" clock on the nightstand (the only clock in the room) is ticking so loudly that I had to unplug it to get some sleep. That explains why it was unplugged when I arrived. It was obvious that no one thought to get windows with any sort of soundproofing. The hotel sits on a very busy street with constant traffic, 24-7. If you're used to city sounds it's probably ok. If you're used to quiet, then you're in trouble. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable. And the bar was really nice. Great staff. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

We only spent 1 night at the aloft but it was worth the last minute reservation. Believe me since we have a child currently at FSU we have stayed at some nasty motels/hotels. Some that say the are clean & quiet and you walk into your worst nightmare so we decided to try aloft. Boy was that a good choice! The staff was super nice and helpful, the room was better than I thought it would be and we were able to have a good night's sleep! This is definitely I would recommend for someone either visiting, working or just dropping by for the day. The price is worth what you get!

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel a couple of weeks ago. We found it to be very loud - we were awaken at 2:30am by a group of very loud people in the parking lot - either arguing or yelling at each other. Also, the hotel is near a fire station, and we heard sirens all night. We were on the 7th floor, but that didn't help. The rooms were fine - but bare minimum. The neighborhood was safe and we could walk to dinner. But it was just too loud.

We had an excelent stay. I had two rooms and they put us right next to each other. We were down for my best friend's wedding on new years. It was less than a mile from the Wedding, the Reception and of course the down town area. Staff was amazing except for one. The lady that checked us in around 1pm was great, and the guy that we saw on the 31st evening and jan 1st in the am was amazing. He had bar suggestions, called us 2 cabs, he was great. The young lady who i think works overnights/night audit was bad. We got in around 1:30am, she wasn't even at the desk she was talking to friends. We asked if she had any pizza places numbers, at first she said no, then gave us a number. We went to our room to call, the number was out of service. We called down to the front desk and she did not answer.

On a side not for management, we were on the starhot and i thought that we were suppose to get the 50% off food and beverage. We were notified that because they were a 'franchised' property this was not the case. I've worked for a westin, a sheraton and a luxery collection hotel all part of starwood, and all 3 were franchised and at all 3 we were required to offer the starhot 50% off food and beverage cards.
