We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights due to a family function nearby. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel that we could basically sleep in for a couple of nights.....no big deal. We have gone cheap before but I guess we didn't know what "cheap" gets you in this area. Furnishing, drapery and linens are out dated and smell like smoke. Ugly red colour paint on walls. We were in a non-smoking room and it clearly had a foul smell of smoke. Even the kleenex smelled like pure smoke and was extra crunchy and scratchy when pressed against your skin. The safe was broken but the guy at the front desk offered to watch our valuables for us behind the front desk....ya, like that was going to happen! The door to our room did not lock properly unless you slammed your body up against it and lifted it up to lock. We finally got it locked and it made us feel slightly better since the area is a little sketchy. The towels were thin and small and some even had complimentary human hairs. There was a big rectangular pool that was cold but we would not have swam in it due to the weather the days we were there. All the leaves in the bottom of the pool were a nice tough. Our room faced the pool. The breakfast was free and was in the small dark interior restaurant next door. There was free parking and you could park your car beside the transport truck parked in the lot. Think this spot is popular for truckers and flea market crowds. The internet wi-fi was free and worked well. The computer in the lobby (if can call that room a lobby) was really old but worked fine. Check out was fun early in the morning. The door to the lobby were locked. It was freezing out side and we checked out via a small peep hole window from the outside since the guy at the desk wouldn't let us in. Wouldn't you trust the people who you have all their credit card info and stayed there for a few nights already? We are clean cut, non-threatening normal looking people. Our private airport shuttle was going to arrive in 15 - 30 minutes so we pleaded with the guy and he made a call to management and kindly allowed us to wait inside out of the cold. Thank you to this nice man. We did not take any photos of our stay at this hotel because we didn't want any permanent memories of this place. We normally do take lots of photos but this place was too embarrassing to show anyone.
All in all we did not feel comfortable while there so we will not return. The hotel next door looked a bit nicer and the Holiday Inn and Homewood Suites looked very nice but farther away. At the time we were booking the other hotels were about double the price. I think if we knew our hotel was going to be that bad we would have paid the double to stay at the other places because it was only 2 nights. This was the first time we have written a bad review of a hotel. We are normally very easy to please people. I will not recommend this hotel to any friends or family.
Spend the extra money elsewhere....you get what you pay for.
