I had a family event to attend in Hudson Florida. I booked an advanced purchase rate, which is non-refundable, which was fine with me, as I've never had a problem with Holiday Inn. Well, my first night there, I woke up the next morning with a couple of bug bites on my arm and neck, I inspected the bed and didn't see anything, so I assumed it was a mosquito bite. I didn't want to fall into the bedbug hype, because I know not every bite in a bedroom, comes from a bedbug. Well, the second night, because my room had 2 Queen beds, I decided to sleep in the other bed, just in case there was something wrong with the other bed. I inspected the bed again, and saw nothing. That was a mistake to sleep in the other bed, as that bed must have been ground zero. I woke up 2 1/2 hrs later with pain on my right hand, and saw multiple bites on the back of my hand, my right arm, my left arm, more on the back of my neck, and one on my lower back. I searched the bed again, still didn't see anything, but couldn't get back to sleep. 20 mins later, I feel a crawling sensation on my body, and throw off the covers to see a black bug the size of my pinky nail. Needless to say, even though it was midnight, and I had 4 hr drive back home, I left right there and then after telling and showing the hotel my bites. Also, the hotel refunded my non-refundable rate the next day without further comment from me, so that should tell you the validity of not staying there.

The room and bedding that you mentioned has been inspected by a quality Pest control company. I would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am sorry that the room did not meet your desired satisfaction. As with all Holiday Inn Express properties, we strive for attention to detail and it is very obvious to us that was not meet and for that I do apologize. We make every effort to create a wonderful experience for our guest and hope that you will consider us again on your next visit to Port Richey, Fl.
