It was our first stay in Perdido/Orange Beach in many years, and we wanted to do our fair share for the area businesses, hoping that they don't get hit by the spill. We stayed in E305. It was very clean and tastefully decorated as well as spacious; perfect for the three of us (3 yr. old in tow as well). The pull out couch was pretty miserable for adults, but just fine for kids. Great view from the spacious balcony as well, it was fun to eat outside. I'd stock a few basics before you arrive, for example our place was missing dish soap and extra paper towels as well as trash bags, and only had some spare hotel-like bathroom supplies. I didn't know if we had neighbors, but if we did, i couldn't hear them.
The building location is also nice in that it borders a national park with no other condos to the east, making the views awesome and hikes along the shore very private. Quality food choices are lacking in the area, and making the trek on a Saturday night across Flora-Bama bar traffic was a mistake. The Crab Shack was good but insanely packed even at 5PM as it's one of the better restaurants on the FL side.
There were plenty of people there over the long weekend but the club seemed to do a good job absorbing us all. The outdoor pool, with its cool and powerful waterfalls, was never very packed, though the early birds got out there and staked the prime lounge chairs for pretty much the whole day. Also, don't expect an extreme degree of romance/privacy poolside or even on the beach in the immediate vicinity of the pay per use beach chairs. It's very easy to escape the condo crowd however. The beach was great, no oil that i could spot, though I just heard reports from Dauphin Island that they are getting some oil.
The beach was great - I coughed up the $25 for two chairs and an umbrella for the day out of laziness, though you could easily bring your own setup as well. It was easy enough to walk back up to the condo for lunch or just to get out of the sun for a bit.
We didn't use any of the other features, just the pools and the beach, but we were very satisfied with the building and our condo specifically, as well as the very friendly staff, even the night security who let us in, as well as many others, on this busy weekend.
At around $250 a night (plus a $100 one-time 'cleaning fee'?) it wasn't the cheapest out there by any means, but it was a busy weekend and the whole establishment and amenities were pretty top-notch, I can definitely recommend it.
