The hotel looks nice and is fairly clean and the breakfast is nice and overseen by nice some nice older women one form chicago and one from the south. In the morning it was nice to sit by the pool and drink coffee and eat breakfast. The tables and the chairs around the pool are not cleaned regularly and the white plastic was mildewed And the umbrella hole was cracked. The round table tops were at times sticky with syrup left by other guests. We stayed a week, being told that our rates would go down the longer that we stayed at the same hotel, by one of the hotel staff at the front desk. after checking in. Thinking our rates would be going down we desided to stay longer in the same facility to visit with my son at NAS because the rates would be going down we thought. My husband went to the front desk at the end of the week to let them know that we would be checking out the next morning . He was given a tally of the stay costs. We got the AAA discount but no rate changes were applied to our bill with the extended stay that had been mentioned to us. If it was not documented, they do not honor anything told to you, it don't mean squat. Matt at the front desk was rude at first until I told him that the write up i did was going to be doing would be brutally honest . He sweetened up a bit and offered us 5 $ off of three of the seven days nights of stay. Instead of 90/ night a whopping 85$ what a deal. Florida tags on extra tax for tourists so that is an extra 3.95 is added to the already 6.95 tax on our bill per night. A nice place, but not that nice. The Huge roach on the bed spread in the morning was a supprise that they said was normal for Florida and so they came in to spray the room while we were gone I could tell as there was dropplets and residew from something sprayed all over the table by our things. The carpet in the Suite, by the couch/ hide a bed , was melted away by something and spots were present. the roach was back the next night on the wall above the window air unit. something in the microwave had been burned and it smelled when it was turned on to make a cup of tea. I think it was burnt popcorn smell. I loved the bathroom with the granite sink and the tub was spacious and clean but the hair dryer wasn't working right that hung on the wall no real heat and the cord got wrapped up in the toilet paper roll it hun over all the time. The pool I swam in was unheated outdoors nice but to cold for my husband to get in or my son and daughter in law. The next day it was closed down to clean it as the maintainence man said it was not being cleaned by the people who said they did but did not clean it like it was supposed to be cleaned. The green algae was creeping along the bottom and up the walls. The next day we could use it and it looked clean again but I had no time to use the pool then. It was smallish anyway like most hotel pools deepest end was less than 5 ft.deep. I used the washer and dryer in by the ice machine it was nice to have a way to clean clothing as I had not planned on staying so long away from home. 1.50 to wash and 1.50 to dry. just one unit each. I waited for the clothing to get done,no chairs in the laundry area, just by it was a gym area that I could go into and so I walked on the tread mill for a while. The workout room was a little grubby and I put a towel I found in the room on the chair i sat on to cover the water marks and black spots on it. Having the tv in the gym to watch while our clothes continued to clean was nice. The window was large in the gym and at night you feel a little on display as the curtains that used to be there are gone and only a valance covers it. There was a big black mark on the floor were the treadmill used to be i think before they put a mat under it. These were all minor inconvienences, but I told Matt I would be brutally honest.
Mostly a good stay just a few SNAFU's, but I don't like to be messed with.
