Stopped here, had the intent to spend a week here---the price was right.. location perfect for my needs. The motel is old--but well maintained, and very clean. The staff was pleasant, it is pretty much no frills, but that is to be expected. I give them credit for keeping such an old facility in such clean, neat condition. The beds are kind of hard, but, once again, that is to be expected for the price.
The hotel unfortunately is still charging a ten dollar pet fee for each night. Since I had the dog with me, I paid it--and with taxes, the bargain quickly evaporated. The idea of spending a week there was a lot less inviting when I realized I had to add a ten dollar per day fee to the total-the $70 increase for a week, made the week visit unlikely.
I went a few miles down the road to LaQuinta, which has no pet fee, and got a very nice room, in a newer motel, with nice beds, refrig, micro, nice linens-for less than Knights Inn charged me for one night. The week was a savings as well-and the facility is much nicer and newer-with a continental breakfast as well.
Knights Inn should really reexamine this policy as in my case, the ten dollars resulted in their losing a whole weeks worth of my business. Most hotels that take pets no longer charge the bogus pet fee, and perhaps they need to figure out it is costing them more than it is making for them
