Our first time at WDW staying in a non-Disney hotel. Room was very average with an exceptionally narrow shower, but we were pleased to see it was a shower and not a tub/shower.
The transportation was very much like the buses for the Disney Hotels and took us where we needed to be.
I was surprised to have to pay for parking, but we would have had to pay at Disney parks anyway.

This hotel has it all. Lovely rooms, great staff, perfectly heated pool. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with omelettes and eggs cooked to order. It is centrally located and there are disney buses available. We come once a year for business sometimes twice a year. This is our fourth time here and we could not be happier. I am a Holiday Inn platinum member. I stay in many many properties each year and this ranks at the top of my favorites.

We stayed at the Hotel last when it was a Courtyard by Marriott and was closed down for years by a Hurricane.
It had just changed names to Holiday Inn.
It has been completely gutted and rebuilt inside. I have to come clean and say at the outset that we stayed across the road BUT , and this is a big but, we have been using the hotel for breakfast and evening meals + the bar as it offered far better facilities than where we were staying.
The staff (knowing this) have always been rally welcoming and cannot be faulted. There is free WiFi (for which we were give the code) + when we asked we were given a key card to a room to look round.
The reason we have not been staying there is simply that our tour operator does not yet offer this hotel.
It is a short walk from Down Town Disney.
Highly recommended.

I looked at all of the hotels on line that were walking distance to Downtown Disney. Sometimes the pictures on the internet do not represent the rooms, and I did not feel comfortable making the reservations in advance due to the charges if I was not happy with the room. In fact, I would look at the pictures of the rooms at some of the hotels in that location and then call and ask about some of the amedies in the room and I was told some of the rooms were not the same as the pictures. I narrowed my choices down to two hotels and decided just to go in when we arrived in Orlando and ask if a room was available and to see the room before making a reservation. We stopped at two of the hotels when we arrived and the rooms at the first hotel was awful. It was not updated and it looked dirty. However, when we arrived at the Holiday Inn, we spoke to Chrystell at the desk and she gave us a great rate of $114.00 for a room for four nights with a balcony (great view of Downtown Disney) and the pool. Our room was updated and very large and so, so clean. The staff, (Chrystell and Ernie) were so friendly and did everything they could to make us happy during our stay. We were very pleased and would stay at this hotel again and again when we visit Orlando.
