I stayed on October 17, 2010 with 2 other couples at Westgate Palace and was treated extremely rudely upon arriving back to our hotel from halloween horror nights around 3am by security guard Mohammed and the front desk. I dont appreciate being treated rudely. I have never been treated so badly in my life as when i went to this hotel. They have poor management! I had traveled all the way from Ft. Lauderdale florida to stay at this hotel with a friend whos a Westgate owner and was extremely displeased by the security guards rudeness. First, we were told there was no more parking at the hotel and that we had to park across the street in an abandoned night club plaza with no security from Westgate watching the cars. Then, my boyfriend asks if theres anyway that as paying customers we can get a parking spot in the lot? Security Mohammed then responds " no go park over there and F- yourself!" I then respond that there was no need for that language and he responded that my boyfriend had cursed at him first when in fact he hadn't. We quickly went to the front desk to report what just had happened and ask to speak with management and the security guards respond that their the management and refuse to hear what we had to say and called the police. Police arrive and say if we can prove ownership we can stay on the property. We get the proof and the front desk states that it doesnt' matter if we have proof because it up to the guard to say if he can stay or not and he said he didnt want us to stay. We couldnt believe this was happening. We try to speak with someone else and they refused and threatened the owner to call the police on her and have her arrested! In the meantime there was a bunch of teenagers in front of the building drinking alcohol and smoking pot and nothing was done about that. Since when is a security guard management or have authority to say what happenes at a hotel? It is unacceptable to be treated in this manner. Never again.
