We have been here a few times before but this was the first time we went on a time share viewing. What was supposed to be 90 minutes ended up taking 3 hours. Even though they will offer you cash we recommend letting them keep it. Of course they take you offsite so you can't just get up and leave. The resort itself was as great as usual. We had a 1 BR deluxe unit and it had everything we needed. Check in was quick and easy.

This resort consists of fifteen buildings, with five levels of units of various size, sharing 7 elevators. The common areas include one fitness room with 1 recline bike, 3 treadmills, and 2 elipticals plus free weights shared by all buildings. This room is attached to the activity center. One of the 2 pools is nearby. The other pool is more centrally located. Both pools are small. Also, the enclosure surrounding the pools is small and narrow, allowing only enough space for 4 tables with umbrellas and chairs and a few lounge chairs. As you can imagine, you have to get out to the pool early to get a chair. There are sidewalks leading from the buildings to the pools and connecting the two pools and a play area. There are no sidewalks on the parking lot side of the buildings. We walked through the parking lot to the street and around the entire complex and it took only 15 minutes. So, we walked the stairs to get some exercise. Luggage carts are located near the elevator, but you have to walk through a maze to get to the only ramp leading to the parking lot from buildings 2321 and 2319. Then we had to push the loaded cart back to the elevator and around to the opposite side of the building to get to our unit.
We stayed in the guest bedroom of a 2 BR 2 BA unit. All Wyndham 2 BR units are similar: well-furnished, carpeting throughout except for tiled kitchen and bathtub/stool area. The recently refurbished unit's floor plan includes a counter/bar with 2 stools which separates the living/dining area from the kitchen. Directly over this counter is the cabinet where all of the place settings of dishes and glassware are stored; you need a step stool (found in the front closet) to reach the top shelf. There is little space to store food, but the kitchen is well-equipped. A patio door in the living room leads to a screened-in porch which is the width of the living room.
Cypress Palms provides comfortable living quarters but is seriously lacking in activities and common areas. We were guests of friends. We will probably never come back.

I don't usually write reviews - but I was so impressed with this place and the fact that I read others who had reviewed I felt I had to. I booked this through afvclub and we had a very good rate - so I didn't know what to expect. We couldn't be more happy with the service, cleaniness and location. We even drove around to recce out other locations that had been available when I was doing our research and this was by far the best for all of our needs. Fully equiped units (we had a 2 bedroom - complete with dishwasher, washer, dryer, even a blender in the kitchen!) 2 clean and warm pools on the grounds that were of a great depth for the kids, great activity centre for the kids and sign out lots of games. We did have a couple of messages and request to discuss time shares - but we ignored them and they stopped.
We will be coming back again for sure - we won't bother going anywhere else!

I am a local and came to stay with out-of-town friends who were staying at this resort. My friends were happy enough with it as they just needed a place to stay while they were out and about. The entire place has obviously been redine recently. My friend's unit was BEAUTIFUL; granite countertops, nice bathrooms and everything was repainted inside and out (even the outsides of all the buildings and all floors, stairwells, doors,etc. Each unit has a nice screened in porch as well. My firend's unit looked right out on the pool and the waterway behind it. The furnishings were obvioulsy new and extremely clean. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking things one needs.

If you are looking for a nice SCENIC location, this is NOT the place to be. It's convenient to lots of stores and restaurants (it is right behind a Cracker Barrel), but that's it. It's fine if you just need a place to crash in the evenings and you don't care about location in general.


My friend's observation was that the majority of the people staying were the over 55 age group.
