I must first say, as others have, that the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Our room faced the main street and there was some noise, but we were not very disturbed by it. The door didn't seem to fit properly so it would stick and we had to be very careful to make sure it closed securely. The beds were firm and there were plenty of pillows and covers. There was some evidence of age in the room, but it was clean. We had a slow drain which we mentioned to the front desk. They thanked us for letting them know and took care of it right away. The wifi in the room worked every time I logged in. It was kind of slow but reliable - and free. The room had a mini-fridge, microwave, and a 2 cup coffeemaker with supplies.
The pool is large and there were plenty of chairs - some with tables/umbrellas and some without. It was clean and very welcoming after being in the Florida heat. There is also a tennis court which looked in good shape. We didn't use it though. I'm pretty sure you can borrow or rent rackets/balls from the front desk.
The adjacent pool/sports bar had nice pool tables and plenty of seating (booths, tables, couches, etc.). They also had a shuffleboard table and assorted video games. The atmosphere was casual and had the air of a neighborhood bar. They serve food but we didn't try any. There is an ATM in the bar which was very convenient.
Overall, we were very satisfied. We have stayed a couple of times at the newer hotels in the area, but didn't miss them at all. Those hotels are obviously shinier and flashier, but certainly no better for service or amenities. In fact, we enjoyed this one more because of the bar and Krystals within easy walking distance :-).
