I want to start by saying...my room was clean, and generally just fine. If you pay in cash, and you don't have to talk to ANYONE in the front office, it's fine...however....
I booked my wedding ceremony and reception there, and referred all of my out of town guests to stay there. I met with the owner who quoted me on a price for my wedding, and yet wrote my contract for more. When I stated that was not what I was quoted she walked away, leaving me with the general manager, who told me, I would pay my agreed upon quote and she wasn't worried about the difference. So we went ahead with the arrangement. Over the months leading up to the wedding, It was nearly impossible to get ahold of the manager...the front desk was said to have NEVER given her my messages. A few days before the wedding I was informed that they had fired the bartender and the owner would be filling in for my wedding, assured that it would not be a problem. My wedding was at 6 pm, cocktail hour from 6:30 til 7:30 and the reception started at 7:45. JUST two hours later, the owner shut down the bar, and stopped serving drinks, yet I was told I had the room for the night. One of my guests went to close out her tab, only to find that there were about 10 drinks more then she had ordered. The owner then comes to me at the Bridal table and presents me with a invoice for the difference in venue price that I was told not to worry about along with other charges I had NEVER been informed of. My sister told her we would discuss it in the morning, as we were ALL staying there, and that it was inappropriate for her to come speak to me about this now. The owner then LEFT!!!! COMPLETELY, AND informed the waitress to no longer serve me or my guests! She then charged my sisters credit card for the amount on the invoice because my sister paid for her room and my own, she had her credit card number. No one had approved that. The contract was with me in the first place. My wedding which I spent thousands of dollars on, was ruined. After speaking with the manager the next day, she agreed that we could not be charged for anything not in the contract as well as the difference in the venue quote as discussed before, and would see to it that my sisters charges were reversed...they were not!
About two weeks later, two different guests called and said they had been charged for other rooms at the hotel in addition to their own. They are in the process of disputing these charges.
I'm glad I trusted the most special day of my life to them. That my guests that spent so much money and time have to look back and my wedding like that. I would not ever ever stay there again....I wouldn't walk in the lobby if I was paid. Be careful...they seem sweet...but you cannot trust them!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, however we disagree with it. We feel that we provided you and your guest with exceptional service and provided you with a great value, in having your ceremony on the water and the reception in our lounge area. We feel that a charge of $250 for this type of event was very nominal, and you reserved the space for the reception until 10pm it is customary to present the final bill 15 minutes before the end of the function. It was a cash bar and the invoice was for the bride and groom's drinks they consumed during the reception. We feel that we handled every aspect of your wedding professionally and thoughtfully. The brother-in-law seemed to agree, as he is the one who paid with his credit card for the remaining balance owed. This is the only complaint we received from any of the wedding party.
