I stayed at this property for the first time. There were some issues with the property itself, but the overall stay was good. It is rare that send a formal letter to express appreciation for exemplary service received at a hotel because I experience it so rarely in our travel business. My greatest experience with this property was with Alexis (Front Desk). I'm a military service member and Alexis was very willing to assist me with a fair and reasonable rate for a one night stay, I was a walk-up patron and identified myself both as a member of the military and a travel agent. I'm a loyal member of the Marriott rewards program. I was elated to have interacted with someone who obviously has been trained to refrain from "NO." He did not make any promises but rather said, "Let me see what I can do." He had been trained very well to understand his role and to understand the limits of empowerment. Despite the issues I had with the subpar room, I refrained from complaining 100% because of the POSITIVE impact Alexis made on me during my walk-up reservation. Please share my sincere thanks and appreciation with him. Too often, upper level managers are quick to condemn and slow to praise. Alexis has definitely earned your praise in this regard. It was evident to me that Alexis takes his job to heart, when I compared my interaction with him to that of the other five members of your team that I encountered during my stay. Although this property may not be my first choice upon my return or recommendation to my travel clients, it will be one of my top three.
