after reading some of the adverse reports I was expecting some drawbacks but could not find any at this hotel. It offers good quality accommodation with friendly and courteous staff,a really good pool area on the quiet Miami Beach a restaurant serving good food (if a little overpriced).I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to be in the more lively South Beach area (which if truth be told I found to be sleazy and vastly overpriced in parts).Overall we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay and can't imagine what people want for the average prices paid at this establishment.Well done the Wyndham Miami Beach Hotel staff.

We made a reservation at the Wyndham planning to take advantage of its ByRequest program. When we arrived, we were told that as of November 1 the hotel was no longer participating in ByRequest. We had reserved a hotel with the promise of free internet access, free phone calls, late check-out and other ByRequest Amenities. We were very disappointed to receive none of the promised amenities. In addition, our "non-smoking" room stunk of old smoke and we had to wait in a long line to obtain a new room. Otherwise, the hotel was fine.

I will never go back! Our first room - we woke, and there were small insects (bed bugs?) all over the table and night stand. We asked for another room, and they gave us one three floors away... more bugs.
If that isn't disgusting enough...
We were there for a conference. They lost stuff we had shipped to the hotel. It was never found.
Lastly - we had dinner in the Ocean Room or whatever it is called. After waiting an hour and 1/2, our steaks came out undercooked, as did our lobster tails.
The rooms were smallish, the service was bad. Hair in the shower drain. I could go on and on, but I would rather forget the whole experience.

We had reserved the room for one night through a third party site. we ended up having to stay an extra two nights due to the storm. The hotel provided food and water while here and we were one of the first hotels to get power back on Tuesday morning. I never had a problem with the staff and the beach was clean. The hotel does charge an extra $10 a day for resort fee and even chraged us this for the day the hurricane hit. All together it was a pleasant stay and the room was clean and not large but for the price we paid compared to other rooms of the same size in the area it was good. Also, we did have to take a cab the entire trip but we chose to do it rather than risk driving after drinking the entire trip. It is about an $8 ride to south beach and the cabs are readily available. We stay at Wyndhams alot and this one was about the standard as others. I would stay here again and the staff was friendly.

I stayed at the Wyndham for 2 days in October whilst on a conference. On arriving I was made to wait 20 mins before being able to check in as they were running reports on the computers. This type of service set the tone for the two days. This hotel definitately does not deserve 4 star status and is probably an upper 2 to lower 3 class at best.
