we just finished a caribbean cruise and had 1 nights stay in Miami after; inspite of some poor reviews, we went with others that said the hotels location and value were great;
We wholeheartedly agree !!!
waking up/ sleeping to the sound of waves outside your patio is a million dollar experience!!
We were especially pleased with the excellent service given by Margaret Steinberg, the front office person on duty !! her pleasing smile and helpful attituude made up for any shortcomings that the slightly ageing hotel had...

“Worst hotel ever? I think so”

We recently stayed here. What a complete dump. Don't give them your money for staying here. The rooms are lousy and the staff just don't care, they have no sense of urgency at all. They can just about manage a grunt. Manners don't cost anything it would have been nice to receive a thank you or please. We came back from the beach to find the maids had been in and "cleaned" our room. They threw the sheets over the bed and that was about it.
My wife got into the shower and when she had finished showering we discovered the maids had taken our used towels but not replaced them. I phoned reception and politely asked for some towels. I explained my wife was just out of the shower and we would need them ASAP. 15 minutes later they hadn't arrived and I phoned reception again. I was told the reception would tell house keeping again. No apology or anything. !0 mins later I went out and spoke to a very impolite maid. She said in broken english she would bring some. Guess what 10 minutes later i went out and found her cart sitting so i ended up having a confrontation with the made during which time she basically shoed me away after tutting and a lot of eye rolling i got my two towels!

Later that night at about 2:00am our neighbours retuned and decided to have a party. TV blasting and Spanish music flat out. I eventually got to sleep around 3. The walls are paper thin too so don't expect any good sleep. We had booked for 4 nights but three is all we could endure, we checked out early and went else where for a proper nites sleep.

The swimming pool has lumps of paint missing from it and there is a coned off area im not sure what is meant to be there. Ice machine "out of order" just like ret of hotel.

The room is run down just like the rest of this place. WiFi is a joke 0.2 Mbps( when it does work). I suggest before you part with any money you check out the rooms yourself. This is easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I will be complaining to TravelLodge LTD.

Please go elsewhere or you will regret it.

“What a dump !!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2009

This hotel hasn't changed since the 1950s by the look and needs a lot of money spent on it.. The place is falling apart. We stayed 12 nights but would never stay again. When you first walk into the chalet you think wow this is old. It then gets worse. There was a gap about 3 inches at the bottom of our door, and a big gap at the top of the door which didn't make us feel very secure. The safe provided didn’t work. We were greeted with a dirty green carpet with stains embedded. Cracks in the ceiling and walls. The electricity sockets were also unsafe and sparking when you put in a plug. The bathroom was grubby and stunk if urine. The hair dryer didn’t work, the shower head was sticking out of the wall and not secure. The taps were also shaky. The towel rail also was stuck to the wall using paper and fell down after a few days. It wasn't put back up, the cleaning staff just ignored it.

We didn’t get a good night sleep due to noise. You can literally hear the person in the chalet next to you fart. The stairs next to our chalet were also very noisy day and night. The air conditioning also sounds like a car engine in your room at night. One night these drunken idiots also staying at the resort were running around trying chalet doors in the early hours.

The hotel staff aint that friendly, and its an hour bus ride to miami beach & south beach. The only plus about the hotel is the beach behind it.. DONT STAY HERE .

“Nice breakfast - I think not”

This was the second hotel in miami we visited within 2 weeks. The first was terrible and this one was no better. Even though the location on the beach was pretty good there was not a lot to see or do in the evening.
If you use a car and park at this hotel then because the parking lot is small then you have to double park which could make it difficult if the guy infront of you does not leave his keys with reception.
When we arrived we were greeted by a pleasant lady in reception but when we got to our room we could'nt believe it. Could'nt open the door at firs as it opens outwards!!! and looking at the state of the door then I'm sure it would not have afforded any security. When closed there was daylight all around the door and even though we put the security chain on to go to bed then I'm sure if anybody wanted to get into the room then that would have not have been difficult.
When in bed the noise of moving chairs and stamping feet could be heared from the upper room. The walls must have been paper thin as we could hear people next door as well.
I'm no prude but when we went for breakfast we were greeted with cold scrambled eggs, 1 slice of cold bacon and 1 slice of orange on a polystyrene plate and plastic cuttlery! My wife did'nt even attempt to eat it. i had a few mouthfulls but failed.
