The staff was extremely helpful and went the extra mile to help. Geo Zeledon was very informative and helpful.
We stayed here on a layover to and from a Carribean vacation. The odd numbered room look out onto the MIA airport monorail; for more money, the even numbered rooms look out over a golf course. The concierge desk is no longer available (most likely should be removed, as there are a few sad patrons waiting by the desk, hoping for someone to materialize). The housekeeping staff doesn't speak English too well (and Spanish doesn't always work, some of them speak only Creole). The housekeeping standards are only so-so (smudgy fingerprints on the bathroom door). Starbucks coffee is available in-room. The restaurant is fairly good, but hardly a bargain. It's clear that this establishment runs on expense-account write-offs. There is no pedestrian access from the airport, although there is a free shuttle to and from the airport. A retail mall is only available via one free shuttle once a day; for $10, you can buy a round-trip to another mall; in both cases, you must stay at the mall(s) for at least four hours before the return. We waited until after 1 p.m. to get our room "made up."
If all you need is a place to sleep that is close to the airport, this is the place. If you need more, if you were hoping to see Miami, try to do better.
Only stayed one night before going on a cruise out of Miami. The hotel is a bit dated and
the executive lounge was not up to normal level of Sheraton standard, however, based on previous review, this was apparently due to renovation going on at this time. Had a serious problem with housekeeping, but because of the diligence between staff and management a
satisfactory resolution resulted in rectifying the situation.
This was only a transit overnight stop. The shuttle came quickly and the driver was helpful with the luggage. Check in went quickly because we had Starwood's gold status. The problem was the room. The upholstery was torn, the room lighting horrible and the phone was broken which necessitated a walk to the desk to inform them of the problem. A maintenance person came but couldn't fix it. The hallway drapes were very dingy and dirty and I detest seeing trays of half eaten food on the hallway floors. Breakfast food in the club lounge was below average, no variety and less tempting than my husband's Atkin's bar. A tV down the hall was blasting but thankfully, I couldn't hear it in the room. Try another hotel for transit.
