Room was gorjeous, very confortable. Concierge lounge was perfect. Only bad thing it is elevator, Only four for 36 floors and a lot of people. If You want to stay at dowtown i really recomend it.

Last year I stayed at the EPIC and wanted to try the JW Mariott. The Mariott is new, with great rooms, excellent service and a wonderful view. However it lost a few points due to some logistical downfalls. the valet parking takes some time to retirve your car, 12-20mins, so call down in advance so they can bring your car around else be prepared to wait. Breakfast service a la carte was slow and just ok. the staff however, was all very helpful and attentive.
It was marathon weekend and the hotel was fully booked and the traffic was heavy so this may have accounted for the long waits. for food, elevator and valet. Everything else was great.
Overall, I would have to give the EPIC (across the street) one star more.

The hotel rooms are so spacious and luxurious. And free wi-fi to boot! The bathroom is breathtaking, with cable TV within the mirror, plenty of shelving, a large tub and adjacent glassed-in shower. Everything is new and well-maintained. The room was very quiet. I didn't have a view of anything since the hotel was full, but I wish I was on the other side which has beautiful views of the bay and waterways. There were plenty of hangars in the closet. There is twice a day cleaning crews that go through, although I only got the PM cleaning/turn-down half the time. My only other complaint is that the lighting overall is very dim in the rooms. The pool was nice and quiet, but doesn't get as much sun as the beach because it is perched in the middle of downtown. The meeting space was very nice, and the banquet food was great. I had a Swedish massage at the spa which was excellent. The staff was very friendly. I went to db bistro on the 1st floor for drinks and dinner. It is pricey but the cocktails and the food were impeccable. There are plenty of other restaurants within walking distance, as well as a drugstore.
I highly recommend it overall. But be prepared to spend a little $.

We were in for a conference, which had multiple venues. We hated the Sheraton on Miami Beach, which was in poor repair and unbelievably noisy throughout the night so I called Googled other hotels and, since I am a Marriott member, chose the Marquis in Miami. We had a car, so being off the beach wad not an issue.

From the receptionist to the bellman, to the restaurant staff, everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They upgraded us to a gloriously, large, beautifully appointed room, with spectacular view. The furnishings looked as though they had been Installed that day! Spotless.

We had no time to use the face,irked such as the pool or basketball court.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
