“What a negative change from the previous setup”

We used to stay at the previous Fairfield Hotel which formed part of the complex with a Marriott and a Marriott Courtyard. The Fairfield was torn down and we moved on to using the Hampton Blue Lagoon when staying around the airport. We used points for this stay but I would not pay the nearly $150 it would have cost to stay there at regular rates. The previous location shared a big pool and had nice gardens and outside chairs and tables. This had a mini "pool" that was shaded and too small to swim in, no direct access without going around a gas station and restaurant to get to the rest of the Marriott properties, and even those properties now have a very small pool and a greatly inferior setup compared with what there used to be on the site. We could not understand the reasons for trying to isolate this property from the others of the group. We would not go back with some of the other alternatives in the area. The shuttle driver was great but the staff was not very knowledgable able getting to the Tri Rail station. An article in the Wall Street Journal years ago indicated that the previous combo of three hotels had a combined average year round occupancy of about 95%. I wonder what the current group has with the changes that to our taste were very negative.

Dear guest, I would love to give you a more detailed explanation as to why the distribution of the building changed when it was rebuilt, but I would say, the main reason was the new design of the Fairfield Inn to provide more space to our guest and being a new built with limited area on the block played an important roll on it not being “part” of the old complex. In the other hand the “mini pool” that you are referring to, is probably the hut tub on the 2nd floor, which all of or guest love to use to relax after a long day.

“Worth the dollars!”

It took me 3 days to search for a hotel in Miami that was in a decent location and affordable.
This hotel was a good place for a 2 day pre cruise stay. A mall nearby and plenty of places to eat.
Hotel breakfast was amazing - on first look it didnt seem to have much then when you looked into the fridge you realised there was a big choice. Heat up your own Jimmy Deans muffin in the microwave, toast bagels or muffins,cereals,fresh fruit and yogurts..... Too much for one breakfast sitting!
Staff were so helpful - gave us directions to the shops and arranged our cruise shuttle.
The shuttle from the airport was free. Just stand outside arrivals and flag the Marriot Fairfield bus down when he drives along.
The room was nice and big and had good facilities. The only downside - there was no sun on the pool so I never got a swim - the pool area looked nice too.
I would definitely stay here again

This hotel looks nice from the outside and when you walk into the lobby. Staff was very friendly and helped set up a ride to the cruise terminal when we needed it. But, when we walked into our room, there was a nice booger stuck on the wall in the bathroom, no bathmat in the tub, which caused my grandpa to slip and fall in the shower, and I woke up with bed bug bites all over my arms. If all of that sounds like fun, this is the place for you! Lol

Stayed here in mid-October 2011 for 2 nights pre-bahamas cruise. Room was clean and service was very good. No problem accessing internet in their internet cafe - printer was easy to access/use. Breakfast was very good - wide assortment and has to have the best coffee of any hotel at which I have stayed. Located in a middle class area - close to airport. Latin cafe nearby had an excellent cuisine - loved the plantain soup. A bit removed from South Beach or Miami Beach - but we felt was good for price. Taxi wait on cruise day was a bit long - it was raining.

Room Tip: Front of building has better view than those to the right side entering the building

my experience was really good, the workers are really nice, everything is nice and neat. i like it to much, im going to come back really soon... ahh something else, the two ladies that work in breakfast , they are nice and sweet.. thanks
