“Wouldn't stay anywhere else”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

This was our 3rd stay and although we looked at other hotels both on and off Disney property we're drawn back by the quality and value offered by Orbit One.

We always choose self catering as we like to be our own boss on holiday.  Orbit One is ideal as the condo's are well equipped and spacious with everything we need.   The pool, hot tub and in room tub are exactly what is needed after a long day in the parks and the staff are always helpful.

Location is perfect for Disney.   Close enough to be able to pop back for. Breaking the afternoon before heading out for the fireworks.

Wish we were still there!

Room Tip: To us, Apollo has the best location.

“Second visit - great time once again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This was our second visit after spending about four years previous on Disney property for a week in late January each year. Nothing against staying on Disney property; great when my son was little but this location is great for all of the theme parks and attractions! Clean and affordable if you are not going during the Springbreak...always quiet and great deal end of January/beginning of February! Son loves having a room and bathroom all to himself and we even brought along his friend this year as the room has two single beds...lots of room, clean, safe, helpful staff...housecleaning provided midway thru the week on Wednesdays! Parks, shopping and restaurants all very close by! Will do again!

Room Tip: We enjoy the Apollo units; ground floor as we are closeby to pool and hottub!

“Great price for what you get”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Just spent 8 nights at this resort, and was pleasantly surprised. The condo was big and was fully stocked, everything from sponges, laundry soap, dish soap, lots of towels and a new batch was dropped off mid week. We felt very safe and we could walk out to the strip for breakfast or coffee at Dunkin Donuts(not tim's but will do). The coffee offered down in the lobby was actually better. We stayed in the Saturn building and it was great, we could hear no traffic but was still close to everything. The third floor is worth the trip up the stairs cause of the high ceilings and no one will be above you. We had a few minor problems, the jets on the tub didn't work, the floors (tile) were very very dirty (son's white socks were black and so were my slippers). I had to make a reservation by phone and was charged for long distance for a 3 minute call ended up costing me $7.50, so beware. You will be charged even if your call dosen't connect, I think it something like .87cents per call. Very disappointed about the no wifi, considering a cheaper hotel across the street offers this they need to address this issue, I was told by the front staff that any internet was to be paid for. All in all they have painted the outside recently and it dosen't looked dated and the grounds are very well kept. We played tennis everyday, the courts are great and no one was there. The pool was heated and was very clean, my son loved the water slides, I wouldn't recommend this place for young kids cause the pool starts at 3 and a half feet so unless they can swim they might not have alot of fun. For the price this is a great place to take the family, great location, close to the parks and everything else.

Room Tip: ask for a room either near the first pool or the saturn building

“Each Bldg Named after Planets”

Went there a few weeks ago and stayed in the Mercury building. It was planned with Armed Forces Vacation Club. Paid about $400 for the week. I also went to a time share at their sister resort and got $75 for it. I originally stayed on the third floor. Big mistake. They have a sky window about 10 feet up. No curtain on it. The moon and outdoor lights shine right through it. Next day I was transferred to the 2nd floor in the same bldg. Much better. Going up and down the stairs was no problem. Cleaning up after yourself was no problem either. Good security safe in master room. One tv was flatscreen and the other was not. Big difference in watching them. Basic cable with one HBO channel. Walls in bedroom are not real thick. Was able to hear voices in other rooms. You do get charged for local and 1-800 calls. Not real thrilled about that. They had free internet in the main building. You could view but had to have a special code to print. No printer by the computer. Had to go to main desk to print out boarding passes. They have security guard at the front gate. It is not 24 hour though. There were times when he is not present. There is a Publix and Super Target store about two miles from the villas. This is an older villa. The furniture and carpets could probably be replaced. The grounds are well-maintained. There are pools, basketball, shuffleboard, putting course and indoor racquetball. If I came back to Orlando this would definitly be a place to revisit.

Room Tip: Back side away from traffic and on 1st or 2nd floor. Beware there is a indian-run grocery store rig...

“Great place to stay for modern family near Disney World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

In planning my Disney vacation, I needed to have a two bedroom suite to accomodate my wife and I and our two young adult daughters. Cost was a major consideration as I figured my needs would outstrip my budget; but Orbit One completely met the need. The costs of the stay was more than reasonable, even allowing that there was no maid service and essentially care of the unit was our responsibility for the time we were there. Coffee, juice and a few pastries were available in the morning during the week in the main room, but most breakfasts we had in the unit.

Orbit One is a small condo community, but large enough to have two pools (both warm in january), sports facilities, a community room and very pleasant, if not fancy grounds. It is right on the outskirts of Disney and particularly close to Animal Kingdom. They do not offer a shuttle, but a taxi from AK to the hotel cost me $10. We drove to and from the parks most nights. They will offer an incentive to consider a tour for purchasing a timeshare unit, but we were not harassed or pressured to take the tour and ultimately did not take it. For families planning to go to DW a lot, it might be a good option.

The unit was more spacious than our house! with a large living room, dining room and kitchen and two bedrooms each with their own bath. The Master also had a large jacuzzi tub. TVs in each room and an outdoor patio where my wife could smoke with the door closed. We had a great time and I felt I needed to say so.

Room Tip: Just talk to staff clearly about your needs and have a little patience at check in
