“Beach walks and Kite flying”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

WOW WHAT A GREAT SPOT. The ocean front location was perfect. Sitting on the rocking chairs watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee is what the doctor ordered. Wonderful staff always going the extra mile to ensure your stay is wonderful. My wife and two teenage daughters stayed in the two bedroom Miller cottage....great cottage for a family. One opportunity is to update the bathrooms, mould in the shower. The breakfast was perfect for the sunrise and had a good assortment. The town of Fernandina Beach is like stepping back in time, a great place to dine and shop. Loved Amelia River Cruise, a must do! Overall a great experience at the lodge and Amelia Island is a great vacation spot.

“Maaaaaaaaahvelous!”

Wonderful Inn on wonderful Amelia Island. Just got back from a weekend. It's pricey, but all you have to do is roll over in bed in the morning and see the million dollar sunrise through the huge wall of windows for it to be worth it. Lovely wood floors, nice furnishings and, did I mention the huge windows looking right out at the sunrise? If you are lucky enough to be there during a full moon, you get the added bonus of seeing the moon sparkle on the ocean at night out those giant windows too. That is of course, provided yo have a room facing the ocean. Even if you don't, the porch has rockers and tables for your viewing pleasure. It's charming, and has the warmest staff including the housekeeper, Rosie. Happy hour in the evenings and yummy breakfast in the mornings. You can feel at home here, or you can be waited on and pampered. However you want it. I love this place. Will be back for sure.

Room Tip: It costs a lot more, but if you can afford a room looking at the ocean, you will be blown away by th...

“Pricey but worth it.”

Our oceanfront room (I'm listening to crashing waves as I write this!) was lovely. King-sized bed and a wonderful shower with a rainfall choice made $240 worth it. They provide a full breakfast with lots of choices and a dandy complementary happy hour. Not a spacious room, but very classy decor. The Nantucket style lodge looks a bit out of place on Amelia Island, but the seafaring decorations give the place a cozy feel.

“great service, lovely location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

Overall, a nice stay at the Elizabeth Pointe Lodge. Staff are friendly, willing to help, and always providing service with a smile. Room is clean, well-appointed, nice taste in their furniture choices (I was jealous of some of the pieces they had!), and spacious. Most significantly, the bed! The bed was one of the most comfy, comfortable beds I have ever slept in! I would highly recommend an oceanfront view - no use in staying somewhere on the beach without actually seeing said beach. Breakfast was far above a standard "continental breakfast" - lots of choices. My only complaint - coffee not strong enough. This is coming from someone that is not a coffee enthusiast by any means.

If I were staying in Amelia Island again, I would stay there again. My only caveat would be the price - there were other quality hotels offering cheaper deals than what I paid at the EPL. However, would I have received equivalent service at those places, nor had as comfortable of a bed? Hmmm....
